Braodway Bomb 2007

i'll be hanging out at a special spot in Times Square with a video camera and still camera. of course, you'll probably never see the photos or video, but they will be captured for sure. also, there's a professional film crew that usually documents the event every year.

Document them for what? We never get to see them.

I just want to confirm that the date for the race is the 27th of October.
I skated part of the course and almost got hit by a car. There's a reason we call it "Broadway Bomb, you could die", because you could. I want everyone who is entering this race for the first time to think about what you're getting into. Racing in NYC traffic is dangerous. Please bring helmets and no one under 18.

(personally, i'd say don't worry about the age requirement as long as your parents are cool with you racing -- i don't think he's ever carded anyone to race, and it's so disorganized it's absurd. plus, kids skate through traffic in NYC every day. but this race is crazy as hell)

For every crazy longboarder who races there is the cruiser who only wants to be part of event and just complete the whole course in a mellow way...but people (SPECIALLY the ones not from NY) gotta wear them helmets.

GRIMACE, make sure the Adams know about the costume rip the night before;
i predict more mayhem Friday night than the race itself.
we'll plan something extra special for everyone to do after the costume run.

plus -- this year, it's mandatory costume required Friday night or you'll have to skate naked!!!*

*NOTE: This rule only applies to female participants. All male riders must remain fully clothed at all times.
Disqualification, sanctions, punishment and/or total humiliation for costume violations by any male contestant will be rendered harshly by Mark Grimace at his sole discretion.

So just took my days off from work, me and two of my friends are coming down Thursday night/Friday morning and leaving Sunday(time depends on whats going on Sunday!).

Curious about where everyone that doesn't live in NYC is staying? Looking for a place for my friends and I to crash, any cheap(but decent) hotel suggestions are much appreciated.

Would anyone be interested in perhaps taking the train up to new haven Sunday morning and maybe having a DH/Slide session? Perhaps hit up the the skate park in CT(Stamford?)?

Anyone skating around Friday day? Ned and Mark, lets hit the banks again before the RIP and cruise around the city a bit. We'd be running 5 strong plus whoever else you two might have tag along!

Alex Newton (Rabid Skunk) was the official timer at last year's Broadway Bomb; he might know where to find the times, or at least remember roughly what Kaspar's finish was last year. The last two races (Bomb and Central Park) both had false starts. This year, I think someone should actually announce and officially start the race instead of having a bunch of people say, "#### it, let's go!!" but, then again, that makes it fun - NYC style.



TOBES, I'll skate the Banks and other spots all day Friday. Last year was solid.
