SO just to remind you all we meet at:
116th Street and Riverside on Saturday, October 27th at 12 noon.

I think it might be colder than other years as its so late in October. We may look into getting some disposable hoodies, if not we might as someone with a car to take everyone's sweaters, etc., to the Barbecue so we can all be comfortable and not have to prove you're a man by taking the nippy weather.

Looks like Keegan Ales will be at the barbecue supplying the festivities.

On another note:

I'm planning to film the Broadway Bomb from different positions along the 8-mile run, with cameras (video and still) set up at the start, plus several shots in Times Square and near the end of the race. And lots of post-race interviews and portraits of the racers and organizers. I will publish the video as part of the re-launch of my magazine "Pavement" in November, which will include a feature article about the Broadway Bomb and a high-resolution video download or DVD available after the race to everyone, at no charge!!!

If there are any riders that would like to help film the race with a handheld camera, please let me know. Also, if there are any skaters who will be in town watching but not racing, let me know and you can help shoot the action in Times Square or at the finish line.

I can already tell this is gonna be another crazy, balls-out, wacky weekend in NYC......

You're more than welcome to participate. But you have to have safety gear. That's it.

Actually i think I remember seeing somewhere they aren't allowing people below 18...but dont quote me on that.

no one enforces it. i saw 13 year olds (Jam) do it last year.

Hey im comin up to NYC from Chicago for the weekend of the bomb. I was wonderin if anyone knew of a cheap place to crash at. Also plannin on meetin up for the friday night costume rip and wanted to know where were meetin up at.

Don't worry about the age thing. There's no entry form, you don't have to show your id, hell.... there's never a real start. It's too big a mess to go around checking for ids. But do wear your safety gear. People will notice a 13 year old without a helmet. And I will definitely tell you to not race. I'm Ian would do the same.

This is a heads up from a fellow child, (Im 14 now, but I was 13 then). If you are not proficient at heavy traffic skating, let alone normal skating in general, be very careful, and everyone should really have a helmet anyway. Be careful and stay safe, but also have fun!

definitely, but I would recommend staying on the road. You can go faster and pedestrians are far more dangerous than a car, cuz they never look where they're going.
