    Default New Jersey

Is anybody left in this crappy state that wants to ride anywhere? Did everybody move to Florida? Bueller? Bueller? I'm dying to get a session going with a few people. IS THERE ANYBODY LEFT OUT THERE?? 8)

Paterson, Prospect Park to be exact. About 15 min. away from Butler. In fact, my sister lives in Butler.

I'm around, during the week I'm in New Brunswick with no transportation. On the weekends I usually go home to the Long Branch area (exit 105). There are plenty of garages in New Brunswick but most have serious security, its a pain in the ass trying to get in one. Long Branch sucks being that its on the ocean and there are no hills. But other wise I'm down for some sessions. Keep me updated.

I haven't had a chance to actually skate it yet. The 11th sounds cool, thats a sunday right? We could hit that up and some other spots I know. In fact I'm working on becoming a scout for longboardmaps.com, so I'll be checking out some Ideas and rumors on spots this weekend. Hit me back here or PM me. Anybody else too 8)

if your in the area you may want to check out Magnolia Ave in Denville its got a nice downhill and then it makes a turn that isn't too deadly onto a part that is a nice mellow slope for some boardwalking or slalom. most of the streets in the area are connected and make pretty nice runs

Not sure if any of you are into riding bowls but i just rode two sessions at the Sayreville bowl this weekend and it was epic. I havent skated a bowl in years and I had the time of my life. We should try to meet up for a session there. Tell me what you think.

What is this Sayreville bowl you speak of?

Its in south Jersey, right after you get over the bridge on the parkway, directly past the "mason dixon" line

I don't know....I haven't ridden any ramps in over 8 years....I could just see my fata$$ dropping in and going through the opposite side of the ramp. You guys would all have a good laugh though

No, I know where Sayreville is, useta play a club there.....what the hell was the name of it... Gatsby's or something. I'm wonderin' where the bowl is.

And besides, ridin' a ramp is like ridin' a bike You'll slam the first coupla times, but you'll get the hang of it again!

by the way, I enjoyed the Mason/Dixon reference

i've been meaning to check sayreville out. anyone who's been there, what is the grom/bike/frootboot factor? what are the park's hours? personally, i'd like to get there at the a55-crack of dawn & skate for a good couple of hours before anyone else gets there.

as an aside, what do you all consider the NJ mason dixon line? the pkwy bridge? me, i've always judged the NJ regions by the TV they get. if your local channels are new york, you live in north jersey, if you get philly network tv, you live in south jersey. if you get both, you live in central jersey.

the sayreville bowl is situated in a large park with a small section for skating. The whole park is concrete and it has a small street section where most of the grommets and fruit booters like to hang out. The park closes at 11 and has lights. I guess you can show up in the morn as long as you can see where you're skating. Helmets and pads are required by the sign, but the cops never bothered anyone who didnt wear any. I've only had 3 sessions there: one at night around 9 which was pretty crowded with bikes and boards, a sunday morn session was great b/c I only shared the bowl with 2 other heads and i skated this monday from about 4-7---wasn't too bad but the groms are on spring break so there were a few more than usual but most of the time i skated with only 3 other guys. i havent skated a bowl since casino in asbury was open and that must have been about 7 years ago. after my first session i was pretty confident. overall its a really friendly 4 leaf clover bowl. It has 3 roll ins for those not about to drop in, great coping, a nice over-vert extension in the deep end and smooth-as-glass concrete. def worth a trip to sayrevill whether its your first bowl or not---user friendly---location wise, you can take the parkway to exit 120 or 125, take rt 35 or 18 to rt 9-they all bring you to the same area--hope i informed the masses, hit me up if anyone wants to skate a session--late

There's no way that something like that can exist in NJ!
