You mean Pro/Am isn't determined for you?....What makes one Pro?
Your choice. Pro will most likely offer stiffer competition, closer racing, and much more aggresive skating in general...not to mention a shot at the prize purse. Amateur will just be a more relaxed version with riders who do not feel comfortable or simply do not want to bother with the pro racing.

GSI usually wants a rider to have done atleast 5 or 6 races before going Pro, but you'll get bumped up if your really good or if you are just naturally talented like Niko who went pro in at his first MCGF after 2 races i think...

AJ, did you just completely pull that out of your ass?
1. GSI has never made distinction in speedboarding between pro and am
2. Even IGSA does not distinguish between pro and am for speedboarding
3. GSI is not even running MCGF this year
What you said may be true for luge, but speedboard (until now apparently) has never made the distinction between pro and am riders. Unless I'm mistaken, Neil also said that it will be up to the riders to decide which class they wish to enter.
