I took a bad fall on 5/24/2008 at Mt. Baker, went off the road and fell down the side of the mountain. I went into a coma, badly broke my pelvis, lacerated my liver and almost died on the mountain AND later in the hospital. The rehabilitation therapists had to teach me how to do everything again...everything.
I survived that mountain because of my helmet...WEAR ONE and send your family to the hospital, not the morgue.

Personal GPS units are allowed as long as they are not such they are going to interfere with your riding or the riding of others.

Re: Madison County Gravity Fest VI
Practice is heats of 4 usually... first few runs you can go with 1 or 2 other riders if you want.

Re: Madison County Gravity Fest VI
AJ additional entries will be $50 each class IF the schedule allows you to make it into the classes you choose.

Re: Madison County Gravity Fest VI
Glad to see a plan written up already.
I must admit, I'm not such a fan of the racing schedule. I will admit I have a bias because I race standup exclusively. However, it would make sense to me to run the largest class on the second day rather than have all of them done racing and pushing for freeride runs on the second day.
Forcing the largest class to squeeze in all practice runs before noon on the first day while all the other classes are also getting used to the hill is going to cause a lot of riders to feel ill prepared and will most likely cause a lot of delays.
My personal recomendation would be to run buttboard and AM luge together on the first day along with gravity bike and inline. Then you would be able to focus attention on Pro speedboard and luge on the second day (interspersed with the bucket brigade) which will be the 2 classes that have the most participants and will most likely require the most time. You would also give 2 whole days of practice to the classes that have prize money involved.
Despite the bias, it just doesn't seem reasonable to only give 4 hours of practice to a class with prize money on the line, not to mention the largest number of competitors. If the 4 hours were open to Pro speedboard practice exclusively it might be more reasonable, but that is neither fair nor logical.

Re: Madison County Gravity Fest VI
I agree with justin completely, I for one would like to feel comfy on the hill I am going to be racing on and get in as much practice runs as possible. Maybe even some practice after tech inspection on Friday from 12 to maybe 5:30 or so as long as you are inspected and good to go? Or does the parade interfere with this?

No need to ask Munnsville to shut their road down on Friday for practice...2 days is plenty of time to fit everything in. However, as I stated, I feel like the time we have could be much better allotted.

Re: Madison County Gravity Fest VI
Justin thanks for the input keep in mind that schedules are subject to change and if we see a problem we can change it, that's why this was posted more than six months in advance. There has always been a number of crossover riders (those who race in more than one class) and we kept that in mind when setting the schedule. The current lay out also gives the town & spectators a good show of pro racing on each day.
We would like to hear the preferences from ALL riders and we can look at different possibilities for changes to the schedule. Please email me and I will take another look and see if the schedule CAN work for EVERYONE in a different way. Email me at events@drnoracing.com
