agreed, I'll pay $10 extra in registration if it means we can have some sort of tight fitting numbers.

I took a bad fall on 5/24/2008 at Mt. Baker, went off the road and fell down the side of the mountain. I went into a coma, badly broke my pelvis, lacerated my liver and almost died on the mountain AND later in the hospital. The rehabilitation therapists had to teach me how to do everything again...everything.

I survived that mountain because of my helmet...WEAR ONE and send your family to the hospital, not the morgue.

I had the same idea but ran into some people that said they did not want to race on Saturday and final on Sunday but most of you know me and I will listen and set a plan that best fits everyone, it is my job to get the event set in the best possible way to complete it.

RIDERS.....EMAIL ME YOUR IDEAS AND I WILL MAKE IT WORK.

I am having custom numbers made that are self adhesive with a non-residue adhesive, they will be here in three to four days and I will be putting them through the test to ensure they will not damage our expensive leathers. They are such that they will be worn on your lower leg so you will not have to remove them when trying to air out after a run or during a break. There is a possiblity they can be helmet mounted as well but we will be looking at this and making the decision as to what will work best for scoring.

Another thing to note is that we already have entries in all classes and I will have to make schedule revisions that work with what riders are signing up for under the current schedule. It was originally set to allow the most crossovers possible without having to run each class on it's own-that takes too much time, so get me those ideas I WILL have a schedule finalized in one week with or without your input.

how about a stretchy spandex/whatever rash guards are made/what bicycle riders wear.

we used those in france, and it worked really well, theyre still aero, and theyre pretty much "once size fits all"

ni the pic martin has one and he's tiny as hell, and another guy, panda in the back is 6ft or so and he has one.

theyre tighter for bigger ppl, but tighter just = more aero!

Does anybody have some footage of previous Gravity Fest things? Because the youtube videos I found of it are kind of crappy and only feature lugeing.

Fred at CrashCorner.net puts together a CD every year with video he shoots on it. He sells it for $10/$15 with all the proceeds going towards the next race.

Wise wise words from Grandmaster Kludy

This was posted on NCDSA and needs to be given some serious attention.

On 1/15/2008 Kludy wrote in from United States (68.8.nnn.nnn)

    "Thanks DC you rock Bro.
Who ever is running munsville race just know that the town puts it on and they are what this event is all about and who ever is at the start line you have to have riders coming down the hill the whole time. You have to ditch the bucket thing and the parade run need to be dones in the down time when you are trying to figure out the stand-up finals or there about.
If you need time to get your stuff together let the stand-up riders go at will and show off for the town.
The down time kills any hopes of alot of people staying.
Stand-up is the show so just keep the young bucks running between heats and any down time.
The kids have real strong legs and love showing off.
Use them as a good ring master would and you give that town one great show !
You dont have to get it right so much as have to do it right for the fans !
Do this and you win !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
If you have a small class of riders in a disipline dont freaking run them 6 times. Run them once and send some fun fast riders down the hill.
Running 4 bikes six times is a crowd killer !
If a 12 year old kids takes 15 mins to get to the bottom run him when you have the time between racen because he is just loosing daylight for real crowd pleasers!
He needs to ride so let him because he will be 16 soon egought and killing it but dont hold things up.
I love Munsville and the people there, its not hard to give them a show, it is hard to do whats right for them.
Freaken do it and I may come.
If what happened last year happenning again your e-vent is toast !"

    look, its simple.

one class, OPEN(none of this pro/am crap)
2 sports, luge and standup skate(buttboards can run in the luge class, and it has always seemed overkill for the lugers to get twice as much run time as the standup skaters)
do away with the points(brackets are much more tactical, finishing 2nd in a heat doenst always kill your chances of winning, some of us like to hang back and keep qualifying, then make our move in the later heats)

oh yea, one more, ACTUALLY RUN A FINAL

By the way, Kludy is totally right about the G-bike and Dirtsurfer runs. I went last year just to shoot photos and watch the racing. I was at crash corner when y'all ran the dirtsurfers and gravity bikes; and that was the most boring 3 hours of my freakin' life.

And the pro/am stuff is dumb. Just race everyone together so everyone knows where they stand with regard to the other racers. It's needlessly complicated, adds running time to the event, and waters down the results ("I came in 5th in the junior's class" isn't as cool as "I raced the pros and came in 12th after Comishin and Reimer but ahead of Freifeld").

I'd say combine street luge and buttboard as well. There's no separate standup class for people on CF boards with precision trucks and ceramic bearings versus wood decks with cast trucks; so why should there be an equivalent split in luge?
