Catskills
So I went snowboarding up in the catskills today and on the way back realized that there are some sick roads up there. Anyone ever been skating in them? They seriously look sick.

Re: Catskills
Ned was checking out some sick looking runs in the Catskills on google earth. We will most likely be making a trip up there in the spring.

Re: Catskills
Hey guys,
I work ( and used to live) in the Catskills (around Liberty, Monticello area) and live near New Paltz in the Shawangunk Mountains.
Me and my crew (the Catskill Surf Crew) cruise all over that area and I can tell you its got some great waves. It depends what you're into because none of us are big speed guys, we're more about the cruise and carvin' and whatnot, but if you wanted we could def give you a locals tour of some of our fav spots. It would be sweet to connect with some other concrete surfers. Just Lemme know if you wanna come around. All of us have the day off on sundays and mondays, so...
Right on, keep ridin the wave.

Re: Catskills
Hi all above,
I am planning to bring a group of longboarders to the Catskills before it gets too cold this Fall 2010. I too have seen and mapped out some awesome looking hills according to my viewing via Google Earth,
Therefore, could any of you or anyone new post links of some definite nice rides. For example, has anyone ridden down these:
◙ Abbey Road (NY) - Google Maps
◙ Pitcairn Mountain Road (NY) - Google Maps
These just look like sick fun!
Hope to meet some locals, and build unity.

Raynerider, I think you should take it easy and sit out this trip, and call it a (day or season), and let your ankle heal over the Winter, as a broken ankle is no joke. You can skate without hands, skate without arms, but a bad ankle, bombing gnarly hills. Let's make sure you can still skate at the age of 50. That's my goal. Take it easy, hang loose, but not too loose. Health is everything!

I know your comment was posted 2 years ago, but did you ever go to the Catskills like you mentioned? If so, where exactly? And how was it?

my parents have like 60 acres up in the catskills, unbelievable spots EVERYWHERE. the block their house on alone is like 3 miles, starts at well over 20% grade into a ridiculous hairpin, then is basically a real mild dh run from there. maybe half the streets in this town have "mountain" in the name
