ned could you guide me around the city for all this ####?
definitely, let's plan to meet up in the city tomorrow when you get in town and we'll make the rounds. call me sometime tonight and we'll figure stuff out.
Do the people at the watchtower have cars or do they all just take the subway as a group or what? Thats my only concern.

hey, i should be able to come to watchtower friday evening, it's just a matter of being able to get into the city alone (i'm staying in garrison). I was planning on taking the train into grand central, and then taking the 7 train to times square, switching to the 2 train, and then going to the clark street stop. Does anyone who knows the city think this would be a good route?
ian, if you read several posts up in this thread, some people are planning to skate the Brooklyn Banks after the race. i think others may skate Watchtower. i'm having a cookout at my house around 6pm for anyone needing food. lots of stuff going...
EDIT: Sounds like some of the Earthwing guys are sliding at Watchtower after the race too....

we could probably get a crew to meet you at grand central to ride out with you. what time do you get in? some of the CT guys are coming into grand central during the afternoon.
If i am able to come, i'll either be taking the 3:10 or 4:10 from garrison, which is like a little over an hour ride. Is it cool if i send you a PM about it tomorrow? by then i'll have more info.
and thanks!
edit: on second thought, i'm not going to be able to get into nyc that early. I'll just be going to the rip that night. Thanks anyway though, and if you're going to the rip (which you probably are) it'd be cool to meet you....
edit edit: is the rip going to be sliding? sorry, i've never been to one, and i'm not sure which board to bring...

the rip has a little bit of downhill carving on a slight incline with about 28-32mph top speeds; most people just mess around and do some slides and hanging out. bring your slide deck, and there will be some other boards to ride too.

Thats a good route. Clark Street and High street (A) are closest to Watchtower. It simple, you look down the blocks and locate the Brooklyn Bridge, so you know thats the direction to watchtower, and then you find the river (you'll see that the block ends adruptly around 3 blocks or so down from where you are) so you head that way.
