i love how people misinterpret this race
first of all its not a downhill race
so there is no need for any fancy setup just bring any board kick ur hardest and never skate again if piks beats you
I'll probably just hang out and shoot photos during the push race (I like skating; but pushing 6 miles isn't my thing), then get into the groove at the ramp sesh.
Test yourself... even though you'll want to drop dead by the time you finish... its still fun!
The Central Park Race is looking to be one of the best ones ever. This year we are going to have a two day event with the Central Park Race on Saturday, June 7th at 12 noon. We will meet at the corner of 59th and Central Park West. Around 8pm we are going to have the most kick ass party hosted by Earthwing Skateboards, it will be held at 210 Cook Street in Brooklyn. This building is a perfect party location with a half pipe in the Earthwing space and a huge roof where we are going to have some bands play... I just talked to Keegan Ales and they are in to bring by some kegs of Keegan Ale and barbecue. On Sunday Earthwing is holding their second annual slide/wheelie event in the Cloisters, around 4PM (directions to come)
We are going to have great events great prizes and a great party.
In the past Fred and I have wished that the events weren't over so soon for people who come so far, sometimes overseas. This year will be the first year we have a full weekend event!
If it rains Saturday we will have to… Have the Central Park Race on Sunday maybe 11pm then the Slide Event at 4pm and then the Party at 8pm just so everyone who traveled so far can make all the events ... all times are subject to change...
Check Broadway Bomb - Home - Welcome to the BROADWAY BOMB Dot Com... for details we will put a central park page on there soon

I get my skateboards at the Soda Factory and my bones fixed at Primacare Orthopedics (Fall River, MA).
Matt F. and I just did a loop around the park this afternoon ( in cough, cough -- 38 minutes -- cough, cough). The pavement in the upper section of the park -- that they were in the process of repaving near the end of last year -- is still in almost perfect condition. Unfortunately, they haven't repaved the other 75% of the pavement in the park. The pavement located near the bottom half, west-side of the park is in REALLY bad shape. Unfortunately, this bad section is also near the end of the race, so you are going to have to save a little extra energy to push through all that nastiness.
I'm so stoked for this!
I did the loop 4 times last weekend. 24 miles! hurray for me
best time 32 or 33 minutes. I think it was 33

I gotta start running again, get back in shape. It sucks that I have no crusing deck, just a Nosewalker (15LBS) Evo (12LBS) and drifter (haven't weighed it, but its light), and its weird for me to push fast on a slide deck. Time to get in shape.

This race aint flat by any means, get ready for some hardcore uphill pushing. I remember passing RBriggs on the uphill, he didnt look too good. Just playin!
If i didnt drop my glove in the beginning and have to skate back, I might have placed top 10, instead of top 20.
I have a feeling a vermonter is gunna take it this year, all we do is skate up-hill
