The Kraken found this hill, but I'd just like to start a thread on it. Looks decent and I'd be down for a session. Anyone interested? Its right off Rt.22 east Lawrence Ave exit in Westfield. Its also close to the train station.
Its a great road. Ive been pushing up the hill little by little. It looks like its gong to be a 40/45 mph hill. One problem tho. The paving at the bottom of the hill it that patchwork paving. They just filled in all the cracks with tar. Wobbles are pretty much guaranteed at the bottom. Im not sure riding it from the top is possible too between the wobble inducing pavement and only about 150 feet to stop. However, a little after the bottom of the hill there is a big sweeping turn onto another well paved street. The turn is covered in pinecones but i was gonna go out there, sweep it all up and see how that turn feels. Ill let you know how it is.

Yeah man do it. And if you're really adamant, write a letter to the town's DPW explaining how the patchwork is causing damage to you car and how Westfield has a responsibility to its citizens to repave it. Don't know if it will do much, but it can't hurt to try.
do you have pictures of this hill? because on my next day off after i get my picture taken for my license i drive up there and do it from the top no matter how wobble inducing this pavement is.

Ill do both those things next time its sunny out and put the pics up. That would be sweet if some of you guys came up here and saw some of the hills we've got here. Nobody ever calls the cops because i think i might be the first longboarder to ever be here.
That cemetery is friggin awesome. Its all perfectly paved. You can hit that while your here.

If you give me some links to show which one your talking about i'll let you know. I have skated both. The one on North Broad is incredible. Its closed some day during the week but I don't remember when. There is no fence surrounding the cemetery, just one on the entrance, so at some point you don't have to worry about people. Ill take some pictures when i get a chance. it'll be a camera phone because i dont have a real camera. It got stolen.
Im going to the parking garage tomorrow and next weekend if the weather holds up. Ill post a link to the garage on the map. Were going to go at 13:00 (thats right, military time) so you guys can meet us out there if you want. Its an incredible garage. We have to drive about 30 minutes to get there but i would gladly drive an hour. It looks small from the outside but it isn't.
I cant get the address of the parking garage itself but the Hotel is next door where your gonna have to park because you don't have an entrance key.
I was at a party on roanoke road last summer and a couple guys I knew came by on their longboards, and were bombin the whole hill. One wobbled to the point of falling and destroyed his back, and I did only about half of it. The pavement on the bottom is hell.
Top to bottom the hill is 71 feet, and is shaped like an S. The first 60 feet of vert is smooth, and the last 10+ feet and the continuing road is poorly paved and patched.
At the bottom of the hill is a smooth left turn onto Quantuck road, which is about a 10 foot rise over a couple hundred feet. Good deceleration.
the top of the hill is in the top right of the image, just to the right of the thicket of trees
