Re: longboard stores in nyc???
any place in NYC preferably central where I can buy Abec 11 wheels at least? I have a friend there now and I want him to pick up some strikers for me before he heads home on Tuesday
My friends staying at 49th and lexington, I think near the waldorf, so I'm hoping that there are some stores near there.

Any idea on where you're going to be? When I wanted to do something as simple as switch out risers, the closest place to me was Blades on 72nd. That place really sucks. The guy offered to switch them out for me on the spot, but I had my skate tool with me and, frankly, I didn't really trust him.
I've been riding my board from one end of Manhattan to the other (literally) since I got it. I've passed other boarders every place I've gone. When I go back to my 'hood to cool down, all the local kids who are street skaters want to skate my board. They want to be into it (and these are middle-class kids with braces and glasses, if you know what I mean, not street kids). They like doing tricks, but they also want a way to get around.
If scuba shops and magic shops and artisanal pickle shops can make it here, surely a high end longboarding shop has a place here.

Re: longboard stores in nyc???
Anyone know if the Bustin Store location in NY sells misprints and seconds decks in their shop? I'm dying for a Sojourn and finding a misprint sale on one would rock beyond the telling.
