My friend from school really wanted to go yesterday so he convinced me to go despite the kinda wet pavement and promise of rain. We left at 3 and it was supposed to start raining at 4:30 so we were expecting to get like 5 runs and get rained out. Well it didn't rain again till 8 and we explored the area and skated at least 6 different spots for about 4 hours.
Clausland road is sick- short but really steep and fast. Good pavement, and a few sweepers leading to a nice runout. Theres an intersection at the bottom and you have right of way but it's still a bit sketchy. Airbreaking some of it and footbreaking before the turn into the intersection (didn't have a spotter) we were still hitting low 40s. With a spotter i could easily see hitting 50+.
Rockland cemetary- sick hairpin on the road connecting two parts of the cemetary, kinda shitty pavement but fun eastrock-ish corner. Visiting hours end at 4 so we stayed and sessioned the corner for about an hour without running into anybody.
We also skated broadway to ash ave that lead down to piermont which has a fast left hand sweeper and then a really tight right hairpin. We also hit rockland ave which leads down to piermont which has kinda sketch pavement and a fast right hand turn with a mirror on it so you can see cars coming up. Oh and we slid the most ridiculous hill it's at least 20 degrees and straight with nice pavement that's like a half mile from nyack college- much steeper and longer than watchtower. It was a hell of a session.
