Default greenbelt trail? sunken meadow state park?

Made a post a few weeks back about finding some long mellow hills in LI and got a few decent responses.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the nassau-suffolk greenbelt bike trails? I know part of it is dirt but i was wondering how the pavement is on the parts that are actually paved?

Also slightly curious if sunken meadow state park is worth checking out as well. Gas is nuts and i can't really afford to go driving my ass all around LI just to find some soulful rides but i would totally hit it them up if they are worth it...

edit: Also interested in massapequa preserve bike path:

"The path runs south through the park over scenic and rather hilly terrain on an excellently paved path passing the Bethpage Park Polo Field. The path then skirts the western edge of the park, providing open views of the Blue and Yellow golf courses before exiting the park. For the next 2 miles or so the path runs along the Bethpage State Parkway where at points it comes quite close to the roadway as it swoops under overpasses. Also along this section are several road crossings requiring some care. "

if anyone has any experience with any of these places please share .

Default Re: greenbelt trail? sunken meadow state park?

Disclaimer: I'm a total noob. Had my board... 4 days.
I've only walked/run sunken meadow park, so I never really took note of the pavement(And come to think of it, I don't even remember the terrain...)

I just skated the massapequa bike trails today(from Southern State to Sunrise Highway) though, and it was a relaxing ride. Pretty much entirely flat, so if you're looking for hills its not the place to go.

A nice ride if you don't mind some pushing though. The scenery is good if you like dirty lakes Not too many other people around(In the morning) just the occasional cyclist or jogger.

Edit: I think we may be talking about different parts of the path in massapequa though... I'm thinking of the one that stretches from around Farmingdale High School and goes south through Massapequa(By the lakes if you're familiar with the area...). I think you mean the northern part of the same path.
