Alpha, you are a really nice dude, but if I were you, I would chill out. Mike (LB1) knows wtf he's talking about, and so does Nick (Worldridr).

As far as I am concerned, Chris is a great guy, and is definitely clever/smart enough to get stuff like this going. He is, however, a nub (RELATIVELY SPEAKING! DON'T TAKE THIS AS AN INSULT!) and hasn't been on the scene very long. I think someone with more experience, connection, and skill should be in charge of an outlaw. In all seriousness, Chris, I doubt you know exactly what you are doing when it comes to organizing such a venue, no matter how smart or good at skating you may be.

I do agree, though, with Mike in saying that there is a such thing as "territory" or whatever stuff like that in speedboarding. It's not like Nick "owns" the hill, but I think he should have the initial opportunity to organize sessions there.

Much like East Rock and all other hidden skate spots, Harriman is fragile. DO NOT break it.

On the other hand, Chris can do whatever he wants, and I am down to support him. (In all honestly and sincerity, I mean this.)


I think relative nubs should know their place slightly a bit more. (THIS IS NOT AN INSULT EITHER! JUST SAYING!)

First off, I said I would attend solely to meet and skate with new people. Not because I find the hill "amazing and outlaw-worthy".

Secondly, I know that Rob Briggs can level with me 100% when I say I DO NOT WANT A SPOT BLOWING UP.

Third, I never said I "owned" the spot, just that I have gone through a lot of trouble scouting it out and scoping the hills. And I wanted to share it with people so I organized a session there with some people yesterday, which is how I want it to stay.

And lastly, I said it feels exciting when a car comes up, while going down the faster hill, further emphasizing how dangerous it can be, especially when inexperienced riders come and skate these hills. The road you want to hold a race on is NOT COMPLETELY closed. It is only closed at the bottom, and we saw a good amount of cars and motorcycles come down it yesterday. And on top of that, it's summer, bud. The park is not the way it was a few weeks ago. We were driving to the other hill and saw hundreds of people across a lake on the beach.

This place doesn't need an outlaw. Maybe in the distant future, but not now. Just skate these hills with some friends and have fun. That's what it's about.

and world, the traffic was heavy because of memorial day weekend. It's no coincidence. I have stayed at the park camping during the summer, and must say it is pretty empty, and even before I was with the longboard scene. I totally understand though on how you don't want these spots to get busted, so I agree, keep it to just sessions, and then in the future see what's up.
