Do any of you have any experience riding the parking garages in this area? I'm thinking of the Garden State Plaza (Nordstrom wing) in particular, on Sundays. Or the Ikea garage across the street.
I'm fairly new at longboarding, and I wanted to skate a garage to avoid the crappy pavement and cars on nearby streets. I'm wondering about security especially. Any feedback would be really appreciated.
I went to the Ikea parking garage in Paramus today. I noticed about 10 trick skaters there. I cruised around the lower deck garage, and although it was dark, the paved asphalt was a dream to skate on, it felt like water. Since I'm fairly new, I didn't go down any of the ramps. However, about 10 minutes after I got there a security pick up drove by and said that skateboarding was off limits and that I had to stop.
I really wanted to get into a technical argument with the guy, but I just left, went to the Nordstrom wing of the Garden State Plaza and noticed that there were cones and barricades on the other side. I didn't go through, but I'm thinking next week to go again on Sunday and stay on the top two levels.
