Re: broadway bomb
skating this morning by broadway and had the cops chat me up for a minute. told me that they are clamping down on longboarding in nyc due to a large event that was held last weekend. so for all that participated.....thank you for coming to new york and making the police very aware of just how dangerous and intursive longboarding can be on broadway. im not against a race in nyc. but it should be sanctioned or at least in a park. an illegal one hurts everyone who skates here year round.

Re: broadway bomb
dont mind ^^^^^^
as another local- thanks for coming out to the bomb everyone! i had a fcking blast skating my ass off all weekend long. Hope to see everyone next year at the Central Park race!!

Re: broadway bomb
i made sure he will not forget me. and the cops think im great after the info i gave them on the event. i dint even get a ticket. he liked my board and skills, said the call to tag skaters was from higher up in the department.

Re: broadway bomb
i was more just giving a heads up to those of us who live and skate in nyc year round. if you dont see something positive in that, look harder.
funny how cops used to walk a beat and the sharing of information was cordial and a respectable thing to do. it helps them keep order for the majority of the population. that stop snitching mentality seems to be alive and well here. not really surprised though. maybe one day..........

Re: broadway bomb
please don't ruin another thread with pointless arguments....the event is done with, nothing can be done now.
ps. bombing yer local hills, outrunnin yer local cops.

Re: broadway bomb
the participants play a role for sure. if no one was involved in something they saw as bad for nyc, than the organizer would be the only one skating. its the mob of skaters the cops dint really care for.
i dint really expect the backlash to be anything so my reservations against the event were held, i dint wanna come across as someone with realistic expectations. i wish i had informed the police as to the where abouts and given them the organizers card before hand though. cause to me skating in this city year round is much more important that a bunch of people creating chaos on broadway for a day.

How about YOU come to the bomb next year, sit on your soap-box at the starting line, and tell all the "participants" not to do the race because we are ruining New York for YOU (only) it seems. See how long you last.
We will continue to skate and get tickets. We don't care. That is how skaters have been treated for 30 years+ and if you aren't used to it by now then pick up a bicycle or some rollerblades and play it safe.

Thanks for the heads up but why did you give them info......thats like............not what you should do (unless you were trying to wiggle your way out of a ticket, then i could understand).

For once I actually agree with you. I'll still probably do it again, but if cops start being harder on us ESPECIALLY at the RIP or my neighborhood, it'll change my opinion on these large outlaw pushers. If they start handing out tickets for longboarding now, i'll be very pissed to say the least because they were very lax about longboarding before.
