"Longboards are not permitted inside Rutgers Dining Halls"
Good job campus cruisers. Y'all got us banned from the dining halls. Now I gotta walk a quarter mile to my dining hall just to eat. I hate you all.
On a related note, I ran into a freshman today who was riding an insect board. If you happen to post here, Mad props for riding a good brand and not falling for S9/Gravity bargains.

But its all I see... all the time. I love running into someone riding a niche brand like insect or LBL.

You're right, they are, but I too can respect someone who puts in the time to find a board that fits them best, and doesn't jump on the first board they see at the mall.

I want to go into the local Zumiez (where everyone around here buys their S9's and Gravity boards), and post ads for TheLongBoardStore.com

I wouldn't trust that. The card checkers there never really remember who puts boards there, so anyone can just nab one on their way out. Only time I bring my board into the dining hall is for take-out.

the lady knows me and if its not that lady (the others don't care) i just carry the board in with me besides a ks with a raped nose isn't that appealing to thieves. My suitemate from last year left his vanguard there with no issues. There are only a small amount of boards on campus even if it were stolen you'd know who has your board. I dont know me and my roommates never have trouble at the dining hall, but we're on busch. Are you on college ave or something?

Hey man. Coulda PM'ed me instead of bumping the thread but I'll be glad to answer ya.
The moridor is a great board for beginners, and people of your size. Its an all-around pintail that fits wheels up to 70mm without issue. Go for some Randal R-II 180mm trucks, and 70mm Retro Zigzags, or Orangatangs. The board itself is very light (Baltic birch), and is easy to carry around. Good luck shopping for your ideal board!
Regarding the topic: The dining halls now permit boards as long as theyre behind the front desk. However, they usually sit out of eyesight of the card swiper, so its still possible that a board can get stolen. I had a bit of a fight with the Neilsen dining hall manager last week about what would happen if my Knuckleduster, which I value at well over $200, got stolen. She danced around the issue for a while but settled on taking partial responsibility. Meh, whatever. Their loss if I sue them.
