Scotts Mountain Session
Listen, I am planning on taking a trip out to skate a great, great little run called Scotts Mountain Road. Its far away, but its worth the trip, and I vouch for this spot. Its in the middle of nowhere in a residentail neighborhood, smooth pavement, and top speed of exactly around 40 mph with a sweet run-off. Scott Free (swingingneackbreaker), if any of you remember him, will probably be there with his crew, ((the original Garden Skate crew, minus drama))
http://www.mapquest.com/maps?address...&zipcode=08886
I'd like to do this on Saturday October 25, or Sunday 26th... and I'd like for you guys who I haven't skated with in a long time to come out to this... Druqs, Aciddrop, Brick City, Jimmy, Ian (who I don't recall has ever skated with anyone )... and anyone else. pat $ has been there, he can vouch.
So... WHAT DO YOU SAY!!!!!!!!
*********************here's a vid of the run**********************

Re: Scotts Mountain Session
hey guys,
i'm definitely going to try to make it out.
this happens to be my personal favorite skate spot. it's not technical but a reeeeally nice run.
as far as other more tech spots in the area there really arent any, though there are two left turns off of this run so...
as the guys who came out last year might remember, jugtown mt. is up around there but thats right down the street from the nj skate police barracks and they dont take to kindly to us shredding their highway...lol
i still remember the guy who called them pulling up to the troopers screaming, "did you see them! insane!! insaaaanne!!!."
hope to see y'all soon.
peace.

Re: Scotts Mountain Session
Scott- there are definitely some gnarly tech roads in the area. Some roads to check out:
Montana Road- 7.6% - this run looks like it might be 45-50.
Lowes Hollow - really steep into a tight right hand hairpin
Other side of lowes hollow 4- 90 degree turns and would probably require a long slide before that intersection.
gnarly hairpin runthis is super technical, yet ends in a fast straight. 1.5 miles
that said- all of those roads are pretty damn gnarly and require lots of experience. leathers, a full face, and high speed (40+) sliding experience is necessary for almost all of them.
ps. i'm definitely coming.
pps. some of those may be dirt, but thats only like a third of the roads i found in the area.

Re: Scotts Mountain Session
pat,
i stand corrected, but lines on a map dont tell the whole story.
my man jamie lives up there and has scouted the area in the past. i guess it all depends on what one considers safely skateable. taking speed, road conditions, visibility, and traffic into consideration we tend to err on the side of caution.
i dont doubt you're correct when you say, "all of those roads are pretty damn gnarly and require lots of experience. leathers, a full face, and high speed (40+) sliding experience is necessary for almost all of them." unfortunately for me, thats beyond my equipment and skill set.
to each their own.
see you soon.
peace.

Re: Scotts Mountain Session
yeah scott- those roads are pretty intense, I'll probably hit some of them (especially that last one) later in the day with some of the more advanced guys who have the gear (and balls).
I'm getting a few sets of wheels soon that need to be killed and those roads look like they'll do the trick.
edit: I can do that ton. I'll hold you tight... no one will hurt you
2nd edit: found a .6 mile run with 12.6% grade. That is fast as hell.

Re: Scotts Mountain Session
ton, you're more than welcome to come. whatever rediculous bull that went on with todd from gardensk8 is beyond over and done. besides, he's not coming, and even if he did (which he's not)... cmon dog, AD will be there.... that's right, I refer to myself in the third person. I wouldn't let anything happen to you. Don't let one egg spoil the scramble.
