    Default Cathlamet Downhill Corral?

I see this race being advertised on pdxdownhill, and salemlongboarding, the race has a website itself, tcdownhill.com. Today i go to that website and there is red writing across it saying 'UNFORTUNATELY THE RACE HAS BEEN CANCELD'. Can anyone give me some info on this? i was really looking forward to this race.

tcdownhill.com is for the Tri-city Official race. Unfortunately i guess the city decided they didn't want to go through with the event.

But cathlamet race is still a go.

i've heard that the cathlamet race is still a go, but i can't seem to find registration for that event. every time i try i get taken to something for the tri-cities race.
which is hella lame that they pulled support on that. nobody has any other info on why?

    Pulled from NWLB Forums

Hey this is Noah Clarke and unfortunately I have terrible news. The city have pulled their support from the event at the very last possible moment. All seemed positive until yesterday afternoon when I received an email with a million questions and concerns from various people at the city. Many of these questions and concerns had already been addressed and answered long ago in the planning process but I promptly replied with an answer or solution to each question. The city has still decided to pull support from the event though. I can't explain how dissapointed and sad I am that this has happened. You will be fully refunded for your entry fee, just let me know what the most convenient way is for you. Paypal is best for me but if that doesn't work for you than tell me and I'll get it back to you the way you want. I still would love to have an outlaw or just super big freeride session on different hills so if you're interested let me know. I can't explain to you how sorry I am this happened. I called the hotel and cancelled the reserved group rooms, but if you've made an reservation you need to call them and cancel it. There is no charge or fee if you cancel 24hrs or sooner before the reservation. The city told me to keep trying and I will but I'm not sure what I could do differently.
To buy a spot for Cathlamet you have to go to ripcityskate website. I would post a link but im at work.

Tri Cities race and the Cathlamet Downhill Corral are two entirely different races. To register for Cathlamet, go to Rip City Skate - News and add race entry to your shopping cart like any other online purchase.

This is a weekend long benefit event comprised of three races. Downhill all day sunday, a push race followed by a slalom race on saturday. Camping in town, probability of a band saturday night and breakfast for riders. The push race is about 6 miles completely flat, very scenic. Skip Marcotte set the course for the slalom and it will be challenging and steep. Billy Meiners and Casey Morrow selected the downhill course, and it's very much like Kimberly BC's Sullivan Challenge, but less chunky pavement.

Hope that helps clear up any confusion.
