Walk down to Big5 or your local sporing good sports and buy some cheap 19.99 running shoes like filla or new balance on sale...seem like a horrible idea but i bought a pair for 20 bucks and the soles like..never wear down. and if they do it seriously takes forever..thats if your looking to spend cheap

They have extreme grip on the board and look nice with anything. Can't go wrong with the Canvas vans either. They're perfect for any situation.
Do or do not, there is no try.

Re: longboard shoes
the best ive found are loteks, theyre bmx shoes in nature but they have lots of durable rubber on em, perfect for us boarders a tad bit expensive, but an amazing investment i promise you
Sometimes I touch my longboard at night. But most of the time I respect it's rights.

I do that for my shoes. my new balances never wear down, although they suck to play basketball in. I also bought some cheap shaqs from pay less shoes the actual soles didn't last long but after attaching a new sole i found the new sole rubber lasts very long.
did somebody say hills?

Re: longboard shoes
I stand by my DVS Original Intents and my Fallens. Both are fantastic. Spent a weekend walking around Seattle, and not a single problem. Not to mention lots of boarding =]
Skate today because it might rain tomorrow

Re: longboard shoes
a very good, knowledgeable friend recommended these and we're both wearing our own pairs now:

thanks again Jake

Ummmm. Idk. I don't have wide feet, and I don't think I have very big arches. Sorry I couldn't be of any assistance.

anyways i wouldnt recommend circas.i had some circa hightops a while ago and the soles got completely torn up by footbraking.too bad i learned to slide after they started making holes in my socks id also like to know whether nike 6.0s are any good, keeping in mind that i brake alot commuting around the city.
Iv been riding in my nike 6.0s for about a year, I dont usually foot break unless im being extremly carful on an unknown hill, I usually drag my entire foot flat on the ground and a friend uses his toe, friends shoes go out in like a week, mine have been perfectly fine and i havnt had any problems with my soles.

Bump!
It depends on the day for me. If I'm going for a short session I'll grab my Converse. If I plan to go all day and cruise the park I'll wear my Ipath Cats (black hemp). The Ipaths are sweet, nice ankle support and you can't beat hemp.

I like Circa's my hightops were the **** but unfortunatley after a year of use they died in California from my downhill shopping cart run. I have another pair now and I still love em, comfy and easy to feel the board on. They are a tad expensive but worth it.
If you can't think about it just do it

That's what I wear, well that and toms... the only problem I have with em' is when they get cold they are stiffer then a muthafkr. and they rip real easily. but for 20 bucks I can't complain

Re: longboard shoes
Nike dunk 6.0 with the zig zag bottom are great. There is deap grooves to give you extremely long life and Ive taken them to the Adrenilina skate marathon and snow skating and there is still no sign of wear. plus the canvis top ones are perfect for not getting warm and keeping your feet dry. Best skate shoe and soul ive ever seen, used or heard of.

Re: longboard shoes
dude, I just got some vans, low top that I absolutely love. the tread is a good vulcanized rubber and is slightly indented, sort of like concave for the shoe so it makes the edges of the shoe stiff and grippy which is amazing for slides/standys/drifts
