    Default portland longboarding

so, next year ill be going to lewis and clark college in portland, and i have a few questions for anyone who boards there.
when i visited the hills were AMAZING, especially in the council crest area. what are the laws for riding in the streets?
is it hard to get out most of the winter because of the rain, or does it dry up once in a while for some short sessions?
is there a large longboarding community?
anything else i should know about the area?
    thanks

yeah, them guys are headin out every day when its dry, and rain sliding when its not. It is legal to skate on streets in the portland area, except for the downtown core. Roadtrips to maryhill or elsewhere most weekends too. Oh and mt tabor on wed is closed to cars, so there usually is a #### ton of riders up there. welcome!

right on! i go to the university of portland. like said, its legal to skate the streets but i have been asked not to by a cop while skating on burnside (considered downtown) so i guess it would be a good idea (like gabriel said) to stear clear.

The weather isn't horrible, usually ill just turn my eyes to rain sliding when wet; but yes, during the winter it isnt very frequent that it will be dry, but hell, you make the best of it!

All in all ptown is a GREAT place, i love it. there is alot to do and a few places (non skate oriented) you'll have to check out. shoot me one and we could paint the town red when you get here.

    where are you from?

im about 5 hours south of you, but i come up to pdx pretty often. if you ever make your way down south toward grants pass... i could hook you up with some runs
