Hey anyone from Pasco, Kennewick, or Richland (and surrounding areas) just wanted to fill you in on some of local sessions:
Every Thursday we meet at Status Boardshop in the Richland UpTown mall at 6pm. We decide where and what to ride after everyone shows up. Usually we cruise around on bike paths and stuff since most people don't like DH.
On the speedboarding side of things. We are trying to get on outlaw race together for Saturday June 28th. Still in the planning stages but the concept is we will have 3 different hills picked out in the same general side of town. We shall all meet at 10am at the first hill which is practically deserted from traffic. After some warmup practice runs we will start the race. 1st-3rd place will receive points for placing during the official run. Then we will move on the two hills. Probably only have 2 practice runs at the next hill and then the official race run. Once again 1st-3rd get points added on. Then move to the final road. One practice run and then the race. 1-3rd get points and the winner for the day will be the racer with the most total points.
Anyone interested in coming. We don't have many speedboarders around here. I'm looking into having some prizes for the winners. Not sure if they will be donated or if we will have an entry fee to buy the prizes.

Meeting Up:
Racers and spectators need to meetup at the Queensgate Walmart parking lot between 9:30am and 10:00AM. At 10:00am the caravan will leave for the first hill.
General Race Rules and Info:
A helmet, slide gloves, shoes, and the ability to footbrake are REQUIRED.
If you need help getting ANY of these let us know, we can help.
Slide Gloves - we will try to make some extra gloves to let people buy cheap on race day but I highly recommend getting some before hand either from us or on your own to get experience using them.
Helmet - Speeds will be easily over 40mph. I’ve had top speeds of around 45mph on each of these hills. YOU NEED A HELMET. Contact us if you want to borrow one, etc.
Footbraking - Thats where you set one sole of your shoes on the ground while riding to slow yourself down or stop. This is NEEDED for the corners and some of the hills. Let me know if you want a lesson.
This is an OUTLAW race. It is NOT official. Participants should only race if they know the dangers and possible legal repercussions of doing so. Riding skateboards in streets that have sidewalks isn’t technically legal. Also standing on a piece of wood with 4 wheels attached going over 40mph is obviously dangerous. Understand that before racing.
Each competitor will be required to pay a $10 entry fee for the race. This money will be used to cover expenses and leftover will be put in a pot for the top racers throughout the day.
During each race heat points will be awarded based on the place you come in. The riders with the best score for the total day will the winners of the prizes.
Depending upon the amount of racers we may break them up into sub heats in order to have a less crowed road on more technical courses.
Following is a description of each hill so you know what to expect and can practice them on your own if you want. I don’t want people to be out of the loop and only me be able to prepare.
The Hills.... you may find them on this map also click here
First Hill:
Antinori Rd AKA Red Mountain
This road is a 1 mile long 6% grade last time my top speed was 46.6mph. Its in the middle of nowhere so traffic or law enforcement shouldn’t be a problem. Its also the easiest hill. Thats also why its our first hill. The turns do not required you to come out of your tuck at all. Racers and spectators will be able to warmup and freeride the hill together. We will then begin our official race heats. Depending on time we hope to let everyone participate in 2-3 race heats on this road.
Second Hill:
Summit-Westcliff
This road is just under a mile long. Not sure what the grade is but on the last straightaway speeds get close to 45mph. This one is more technical than Red Mountain with 2 sharp corners. The first you will need to footbrake into. We’ll position a spotter on it for traffic. Hopefully every racer can take 2 race heats here.
Third Hill:
Gage Hill
This road is new...Its above Gage. Its actually called Morency. Its somewhere around 2 miles long and currently has 2 awesome hairpin corners. By the date of the race there may be atleast 1 more hairpin corner, its still under construction. It will be the championship road and we will probably only have the top 4 riders compete on it for 1 heat in order to reduce the chances of being busted.
Assuming all goes well we will proceed to a nearby park to give away the prizes and give away other free stuff from our sponsors.
This should be a fun event except there is Billy the Kids Burnside bomb in Portland and the Giants Head freeride are that weekend.
I am not sure where I'll be going but maybe some of the Spokane crowd can make it.
Sweet, We'd love to have some of you spokane guys here.
We are going to have shirts made. The entry fee for the race will be $10 and the shirts will be $10, but I'm going to try to get a website up for pre-registration where you can order a shirt and pay for the entry fee for $15 total (instead of $20 on race day).
The money from entry fees and shirt sales will go into putting on the race, such as gas for drivers, etc, buying extra shirts for selling at race, purchasing extra prizes, etc. Any leftover money will go into a winners pot.
Here's the shirt design i started working on. Sorry its so big...
UPDATE:
I printed up some shirts for the race. Learned a lot about screen printing since i'm printing them all myself. We messed up some shirts but got some that look great. Here's a couple pics.

What a sick idea man! Wish I could be there. Stoked to see a skater throw something together himself! (See everyone, it is possible to put together races without IGSA and still have it be tight).

I have a youth small that one of your little guys might be able to fit into! I really want to see some little shredder rocking an "I support outlaws" t-shirt...
How many guys do you think i should expect from spokane?
There will be at least 2 from spokane but there is the possibility of 6 to 8 more. It depends on who can get a car. Some of us are heading to PDX for the Burnside Bomb on Sunday.
