Alright so im in the smack center of Washington (in Wenatchee).
it's a beautiful place nestled in a valley with the columbia river running through it,
blue skies, hot sun, etc.
really prime riding.
there's a few roads i have in mind.
the first one is a smaller run, quick road probably 45 or 50 mph, about a mile long
and probably about 500ft elevation change, with a few switchbacks
and awesome views all the way down.
the pavement could be better but it's pretty tight.
the next would be the biggest. get ready, 8.3 miles of rough switchbacks and ####.
I've never tried it, a dude died a couple days ago one his bike, but the Ridge to River
(if you're from washington you probably know what it is, an annual 19 mile triathalon)
has it's bike leg begin where the race would begin, so it's not like it's normal for somebody to die on it.
They repaved the whole thing before last winter (in september i think) but i've never tried to tackle it. it might be beyond my level of skill or my equipment (perhaps both)
but i know anyone with speedboarding experience would have a blast.
you'd definitely need fullface and leathers as im sure you'd be hitting hairpins at 40mph and topping out at like 55 on the straight at the bottom. The whole thing is lightly forested with great views and whatnot. Definitely enjoyable.
There are several more roads i can think of that would work so if there's real interest let me know.
Also I have no idea how to get permits to close a road or permission or whatever is required and if someone wanted to help sponsor that would be sick. Let me know. Thanks

Try posting on the local forums like NWlongboarding.com or pdxdownhill.com, or eastsidelongboards forum. There are several guys on those sites who have experience organizing races. NW longboarding did a race in Seattle and got permits, so they could give you advice on that aspect. Good luck, sounds gnarly.
