Default Maryhill -- Where to sit, when to arrive?

Hello - I'm thinking of checking out Maryhill festival of speed this weekend and I know little about gravity sports. Can someone give me some pointers as to when to arrive, where to sit, and anything else a noob could use to his advantage?

Thanks -

tomorrow is still only practice runs, the qualfifying rounds start in the middle of the week.

sat/sunday is the best day to arrive, be there arond 11 a.m., they have shuttles to take spectators up and down the hill.. so pick the best spot/corner to your liking.

There are basically two categories of places to watch from: 1) the overlook on the main highway, and 2) various on-course locations.

The overlook is killer: an overview of the course with excellent views. For this, you'll want binoculars and a tripod for your camera. It's got no shade unless the tents get installed up there, and you need to bring water.

The on course locations vary and I suggest you bring good hiking shoes, a portable folding chair and something for shade (I use a big hat). There are excellent locations that Volcanic Productions will shuttle you up to.

Finally, there's the infield: tents, food vendors, Longboard Larry and his crew of lunatic skaters, all the racers, a climbing wall, bands of Army recruiters handing out roofies to unsuspecting Canucks, music, and a prime view of the last run down from Cowser's to the finish line.

With the pending invasion of canadian skaters, the Reserves have been mobilized. Protection of the livestock is paramount.

The weather will be high 70's, low 80's all weekend!

Weather data reports only 10mph winds at the hill today. I hereby vote for 40mph winds coming down from the mesa toward the river.

...unless it's a headwind. I'm only voting for tailwinds.

I also hereby vote for teams of nudist cheerleaders wearing adequate sunscreen.
