I was contacted by a local Portland journalist that wants to interview local/Portland people that commute to work via skateboard for an article on Super Commuters.
I ride my board to work but I only live a block away and own a skateboard shop so I do not think that is the angle she is looking for (our story is kind of obvious!). But if you commute, fair weather or not, via skate or longboard please drop me an email so I can give you her contact information.
It's cool to see your name in print and everybody has their own interesting spin so please step-forward.

Beyond the publicity, it might help some with longboarder PR. I'm thinking of that story skategeezer posted a few weeks ago. Flood that journalist with (responsible) stoke!

i live uphill from the trainstation where my train comes by that takes me to uni. i walk out the door, hop on my hellcat and gravity takes me there in 2 minutes. its always nice. 20 minutes of trainriding later i hop on my board again for another two minutes and i arrive at my university.
i take my board everyday, except when i have to work in the lab. skateboards arent allowed in the lab and the hellcat wont fit in my locker. leaving it outside is too much of a risk, although i actually think noone would take it.
I travle to work via bus and longboard. I generally take the bus as close as it will take me to work them push, on the way back i climb the hill to my house.
