You really dont need rails unless you are trying to save the graphics, or are looking for a faster/smoother board slide. Thats not a bad board. I had one setup for a while. A bit big for me, but its a good old school cruiser.

    Cool Re: Santa Cruz

Rails are great for preserving the graphic on the bottom
for board-slides and rock to fakies (or airs). But if you don't do
those maneuvers, you really do not need them.

Too bad you are not in the US, because I have a nice Vision Hippie Stick
and an used old school Powell Ripper I would sell you far cheaper.

I saw a price-tag that said $240 and closed the window. I think you could find a very similar, if not identical deck and set-up, for much cheaper, that would perform the same.

Depends on the exchange rate. When I was visiting Oz that would have been $160 USD, the prices are about the same for things there as here the values are just different.

On the question about rails it's a lot of personal preference. I always used them, so to me having an 80s board without rails kinda feels out of place. It feels right when you grab for a boneless one or something. It will save your graphics to a point, but if you slide on curbs and stuff it's always going to get nicked and tearing it up is part of the fun anyhow.
