    Default kicktales are overated

So ive been working on riding pools with my dervish and just love it. ive ridden boards with a kicktale in pipes and such but it just is not that flowing surf/snowboard feel. unfortunately i'm just figuring it out on my own so progress is slow. but to anyone else who rides a bowl w/o a kicktale share some stories, give some tips that really helped you, etc.

Not sure if you have seen this or not, there are other great clips of Louie Pilloni riding parks on a Vanguard.

kick tails give you that thrashing feel, like a snow/surf board when you ride with you back foot on it. im not into flow as much as quick turns like on a snowboard.

I like riding my Hellcat in bowls. I think it's a lot easier to pump transitions with a long wheelbase. Kicktails are definitely useful, though.

I ride bowls with my hypercarve, it has a kicktail but i only use it for the dropin cuz i almost cant kickturn or 50/50 and i just carve around the bowl.
Most fishes swim in schools, but mine swims in pools.

    Cool Re: kicktales are overated

Dropping in like Louis P of Loaded really takes some skillz, easier
to do it with a tail. What about a Brad Edwards Gravity longboard
    with a kicktail?

Gotta say I love the kicktail and nose on my new Gravity Brad Edwards 40" and that dude (B.E.)shreds with a great surf style. My style is a bit different and certainly ollie based. But I can understand where you're coming from, to each there own! As for ripping w/o a kicktail in ditches, bowls etc. I'd emphasize early grabs, boneless', laybacks, "Berts", and riding towards the nose. Keep having fun, and post some pics. Peace.
