    Default A vert wheel question.

I'm getting a freeride/park board soon and need your help.

I'm set on a Brad Edwards 40 and kind of set on Tracker 149 Darts (please persuade me against them if you'd like), BUT I'm clueless as far as wheels. I want a wheel thats 60mm+ that can cruise a tiny bit and freeride, yet at the same time will have no problems in the park (mostly concrete parks). Do they exist?

No they don't exist, a hard wheel that rocks in a concrete part will be horrible on regular streets, and a nice cruising wheel will be slow in the parks, so basically, you'll need two sets of wheels.
I had the Darts on my BE40, but If I where to get one now, I'd go with Indys.... I like how they turn better.

Yeah you'll want 2 sets for sure. I'm liking my Rainskates Stingers 58 mm (100a). They do a 60mm as well. PPS, Pool King and Powells are good too.

Rainskates, even the soft 85a ones are pretty fast on smooth 'creet, but its allway goning to be a compromise.

As for trucks, well, ride em. Indys are not the holy grail.

Unless you're going to use wide or offset/sideset wheels, I'd go with Sixtracks. 149s are a bit narrow for that deck...

+1 to rainskates, 85a if you are going to spend a lot of time on the street, 95/98a for more park, and in terms of 60+ sizes -> 59mm, 50mm, 62mm, 65mm

some of my favorite wheels ever, best wheels made in alaska for sure

indy's or GK's, dont even think about Trackers. Stick to 60 mm's, and atleast 95 duro. I'd also consider spending a grip of time on smaller mini's and concrete bowls before you dive heard first into vert. good luck.

Get Indy's and one set of hard Rainskates and a set of soft Rainskates and some extra nuts if you're worried about the nylon degrading and you'll be a very happy man.

Yeah, I've been skating bowls and halfpipe on a shortboard for about a year now. I'm just interested in a bigger more versatile board and was wondering what was out there as far as multi-purpose wheels go.

For my BE40 I have two sets of wheels, both Rainskates. For modern concrete parks and bowls, I use Rainskates Avalanche which are 100a duro and 65mm. For riding on rougher surfaces like the street, ditches, old parks with rough crete etc. I use Rainskates Tsumanis which are 85a duro and also 65mm. I"m really happy with both of those wheels and switching them out is not a hassle at all as both are set up with bearings.

I have Ace66 which are really nice though a little wide. I actually have a set of 149 darts which I plan to try out once I have the time to switch them around. They seem like they maybe a little narrow but I think that Gravity ships the BE with 149 darts on their completes.

I"ve had mixed expereince with Trackers. I've loved them on some boards and hated them on others.

Cool Re: A vert wheel question.

Rainskates Stingers - Bones SPF formula - Rockin Rons wheels
These are all great fast SP/Pool wheels.

When I was at the ProTec practice at the Combi at Vans, most of
the pro's appeared to be on Bones SPF as best I could tell. 8)

for an all around wheel im useing the noskoolz 60 mm 78 duro
very smooth on the street.still fast enough to get over the coping at the parks and pump forever without losing steam.
we race around a lil bowl at costa mesa park and how you pump makes alot more difference then the wheels.

i would suggest something much harder than a 78duro for a park, especially if it's a wood park.
