tail stall/tail tap is super easy if you're coming in fakie. As you approach the coping start to apply pressure to the tail, and just before your wheels hit the coping transfer more weight to the tail and lock it onto the coping and stall before dropping back in.

Axle stalls are about coming in with enough speed to get your weight onto the top of the coping, but not so much that you start to fall back onto the deck. As your front wheels approach the coping, lift them enough to get them above the coping without bonking it. Next you will continue up the remainder of the way on your back wheels in a semi-manual. Start to pivot your body and board so that as you are pivoting one wheel rolls over the coping and then you can finish pivoting and put your front truck on the coping so that both trucks are now on the coping. You may see some people after lifting their front wheels, they will do a quick 90 degree slide on their back wheels to lock into the coping. This works also. After you chill there for a second, just lift your front trucks again and pivot back into the transition, leaning into it.

In terms of advice for actually pulling this stuff off, just commit and practice. eventually they become second nature.

Edit: for both of these tricks you want to be going straight up the wall.

For axle stalls, I find them easier to do if I approach the wall almost as if I'm going to do a frontside kickturn, but at the last second pivot backside when I reach the coping. If I don't do that, I tend to go over too far when I'm on top of the deck. Having to do a 95*-100* pivot instead of just a 90* helps me to keep my weight right over the coping...

Considering Im kinda in the same boat as you (learning park/lip tricks) maybe I can help.

For axle stalls it depends on the tranny. For little stuff with a shallow transition (like BHO said) you really dont need to do much more than kind of a little manual and kickturn as your approach the coping. Ive got these down pat, but when it comes to deeper or taller transitions, I have a different technique. I usually approach with more speed than I think I need. Id much rather fall back on the deck than miss locking in on the coping and tumbling down. That being said, as I approach the coping and feel Im losing momentum I just kind of unweight myself and pump into it. It locks me in every time.

Since Id imagine you get the basic idea from my post and the previous ones, Ill just give you some helpful stuff to remember:
-Learning to pump ramps helps a lot.
-When you do lock into the coping, make sure you dont lean too far forward. If its a slippery coping, the truck wll slide and cause you to lose your footing
-On a similar note, dont approach the coping as if you were going to slash it when you first start. Youll end up doing a 50 50 and lose you balance if your not read for it

As far as tail stalls go, I have these sketchy at best when I can do em. You can either go like you were going to do a slash but turn early and kinda slide the tail on, or you can just kinda ollie/pop it off the coping and slip it on. Id recommend going on Youtube and looking up MiniRampChamp. He has a great seriies of trick tips.

    Good luck man!
