Default new to pool/bowl skating. what do i need to know?

i have been skating since the beginning of summer. now i am interested in bowl and pool skating. i am going to pick up on of these bad boys and put indy 169's and 60mm 88a no skoolz on it: LongboardSkater.com: Earthwing Jailbird - 33.25" - SAVE $10.00

then i'm gonna hit the local park's bowl.

the thing is, i have never in my life skated tranny before. how do you ride it? what do i need to know?

comments and suggestions about my set up are welcome.

I personally recommend a standard 8 1/2 with a 15" WB, Indy 149's and 60mm wheels. This setup falls right in the middle of your bigger pool board and a street setup. Its big enough to be stable yet small enough to maneuver easy. After riding this set up for a while you will know if you need to go bigger, smaller or stay the same. I rode this setup for years until I stepped down to a 8 1/4, 149's and 55mm wheels. Hope that helped.
