    Default Wheels for Pools

I just found this motel that recently closed down.
It has a perfect kidney shaped pool in the yard.
The blue paint is still over all the cement.
Its really slippery and the only wheels I have are masonite park wheels and slide wheels, neither grip.

What works on flakey old paint?

    Cool Re: Wheels for Pools

Don't know what board / trucks you have, but there are PLENTY of
great choices for softer wheels out there these days. Just go to

I ride ditch techs and they are grippy (but also slide smoothly when you want them too) they are weird wheels but I like them However they don't make them anymore and are hard to find. They do have the All Terrain Formula which I think is supposed to be similar.

you should definitely be able to still get good enough grip with 97a+ wheels

Conspiracy Alien Shots are fast and grippy in 97a, Autobahns are insanely fast + grippy as well

but honestly, take a push broom and knock off anything loose and any good, hard wheel should be fine

in pools, speed > traction... take all that effort saved from not having to pump like mad and direct it to keeping centered on your board and you'll appreciate being able to break loose whenever you want/need to

I am now bonafide cubic lover, I just don't like skinny wheels. I run both hard and soft Rainskates on different boards, great grip and speed and don't catch on joints as bad as skinny wheels. I am curious about no-skoolz and rat bones now.

Blackholes and shitbirds for rough -n- smooth cement. The Powells are me favorite - crusty or smooth cement or plaster.

    I'm a sucker for rainskates:

    RSwheels

85a, 95a, or 98a should probably work, and they come in lots of sizes. I've got some 62mm yellow 98a for my EW crewzer and they are awesome, and still fast

Wow, you're getting here all sort of replies, left, right and centre.

But if you say it's slippery and you've tried "park" (whatever that means) and "slide" wheels and none work, I'd say that eliminates all the Bones or Blackholes suggestions: go soft.

For that you'd need something between 85 and 95 hardness.

Look for Orange Rainskates wheels (really grippy for that sort of surfaces) or any other 95's, from fat Powell Cubics to slimmer wheels like Conspiracy 95's.

Used to ride Rainskates in the park. Really liked the grip they gave while also being 97a and rolling fast on 'crete. Recently switched to Autobahn Enduro's, also 97a, probably won't ride any other wheel for 'crete if they keep making the Autobahns.

Set your hard wheels up properly, with faced hangers and spacers, and they'll grip/roll like a soft wheel while keeping up speed on smooth stuff like a hard wheel. Om nom.
