Most pool setups have loose trucks because pools are tighter
than most sk8 parks. I like your wheels and trucks(what I ride)
But add 1/2" risers with Indy soft red bushings and you will
be able to turn.

Right now, my favorite wheels are the Rainskates Hornets. Not quite as fast as PF Bowl Bombers, but I don't feel like my fillings will get rattled out of my teeth.
I hear ya Mark, something about 97a wheels on rough concrete or asphault
can really rattle your bones. So far they are the slipperyest wheels I have
ever owned. Then again, I have never owned wheels this hard before so its
all a first for me. I grew up on 78a kryptos and they were a dream to ride
compared to these. I have yet to get these wheeels out to the park. My son
starts school in 2 weeks and then maybe in the morning I`ll get my chance
to see how they work out on the crappy skatepark we have. Work, thats I`ll
I do, and now with a PT job on top of a full time job, Don`t know where I`ll
get time to ride.

JimK: to properly honor a board like that, it must have battle scars. you are doing your board a great dis-service and it will get back at you. prolly by biting you in the shin.
as you can see below, my board and I have been spending lots of quality time together
Lucky you, The only quality time I get with my boards lately is when I have work to do in my shop where they hang on there oak rack collecting sawdust from the saws and routers I have running. Then when it comes to clean up time, they always get blown off first to keep the dust outs the bearings.
Your quite right about prolly getting it in the shin though. Getting rusty not
being able to ride like I use to. Guess its time to invest in some shin guards now to. [/quote]

What is the tailbone used for? It looks like it would take away a little bit of the stability of the tail when dropping in?

tailbones protect the tail from the kind of damage you see in the pic above on the tail of my board. it's not like I'm trying to grind down my tail, but it happens when you practice manuals or even kickturns for the first time. after a while the tail will get ground down and will weaken considerably. a tailbone can help prevent this.
they don't really affect dropping in. what will happen is that due to the increased thickness of the tail, the board will be more level when you drop in. if you have a really shallow tail on your board it will reduce it even more which could be troublesome for some.

it, along with the rails helps to make the board rattle a lot and be more heavy...
Longboard is not a verb.

Funny, with 97a wheels it doesn`t seem to matter whats on the board it gets
noisy. After installing my rails and tail bone it didn`t sound any different.
