just some pics my wife took today of me hitting my newly acquired frontside 5-0 grind. I clipped these from a video clip we took for my skate vid I'm making for my bro stationed in Iraq. If you have coments about how to make the picture look better, I'd appreciate the advice. Thanks!
CRASS: I wish I had a camera that could do that. looking at the vids we took we could look at a semi frame by frame to see some things you can't normally see of yourself. pretty informative.
don't think I'll be using photoshop for anything more than maybe taking the top pic and making it a t-shirt design. I'd rather work on my photo taking technique than my photoshopping technique, but it's all due to how much I can get from my camera.
don't shoot into the sun. you get lens flare (see your second picture) and backlighting (ie bright background, dark subject- sometimes desirable, but not usually).
Getting nice photos is an art form. Guys like MRZ spend year perfecting their craft.
I will say this though, a nice pro-sumer SLR in even a novices hands can produce some stunning pictures. I have a Fuji s7000 that takes stunning pictures on a nice day, but indoors its another story.
thanks for the tips on the pics guys. I'm sure photography is the same as skate gear. you need to try a ton of stuff so that you can learn how everything works together and what works for you.
here's something I came up with after a little photoshop, MS picture editor and paint:
this is a small version so it looks a little grainy
I.e. if you are moving forward there should be more space between the front of you and the edge of the photo and less space between the back of you and the edge of the frame.
