    Default Your progress

Hey everyone, post up your progress here.

I've been skating for about a year, and now suddenly within a week I learned to heelflip, fakie heelflip and do halfcab's!

Also, a bit OT, but I'm getting a new board soon since mine is REALLY worn down. Any suggestions?

    Cheers

Good job on the tricks you learned. I just started park skating this past January, but progressed quickly from carving within the bowl to getting bs/fs air and grinding coping. Call it the evolution of a longboarder but it seems to me I keep going down in deck sizes. From 60" tankers, pintails, funshapes, speedboards, and first starting in the park with a 34x10 BDS to a Gravity P36 to currently riding the standard shortboards(32x8).

For wheels around the 60mm range I would highly recommend Rainskates and I'm a diehard fan of Indy trucks and RnRs bearings.

    good work, mate!
i've only started to skate about a year ago after a lull of about 6 years. i'm just about getting my kickflips back.
anyways, i'm currently rocking a poolking board. 33" by 9". and it's absolutely fantastic!! when i wear this one out i'll just buy a new one. it's that good. very functional shape. recomend it greatly!
i've set it up with sixtracks and any 60mm parkskate wheels i can get my hands on(wear 'em out pretty fast).

keep on progressing dude, but don't forget to have fun!

ive also been pool skating for about a year, and at the point where i can 50-50 the coping and carve grind the deep ends, also rock n rolls tails stalls and pivot to rock, are really easy for me now. but mostly, i just like to go reeeeeeeeeeeally fast! having a blast in the bowls!

ive been riding a comet 'pop' , 35" X 8 1/2", with indy 149's powell bowl bombers, 64mm/PF and bulitn, abec 5's. i love it! soooooooo fast!

Almost have my backside airs down (advice?). I can start practicing them again as soon as I can skate again. Damn physio.

    8) After riding slalom at Luna Slalom Jam, my friends Gumby and Big Ryan convinced me to drive to the new Grindline Park in Oxford Mississippi. Watching those 2 Texas PoolSharks shred the park, sparked interest in riding trasition again. At the age of 46 I don't know how far I will progress, have not ridden transition since 1981. I plan on hitting some ditches first and then move on to the parks. Now for my weapons of choice, SMA Chilli Pepper,Randal 150 front and Indy 169s back, Abec No Schools, Dogtown Pool School, Randal 150s front and Indy 169s back, Bulldog Dub Conicals 87 duro and a Black Label Duane Peters, Indy 169s all around, Bulldog Shogo wheels. Wish me luck bros. Eddy Texas Outlaws

Hope you make it man! I'm also so freaking into pulling of a FS air, but I don't have a clue how to get the air upwards and not forward out of the transition, if you know what I mean? Anyone here that can do FS airs?

Btw, those rainskates look great, but aren't they too large for park skating and heelflipping and such?

iv'e got front side airs down, not too high yet and i usualy do it on a hip to pop me off the wall a little more, anyway, the only thing that realy helped me was to just wait to grab till im in the air. i noticed that as soon as i grab, thats when i start to turn, so if i grab under the coping then i go accross the wall

I just started riding transitions earlier this year..having never tried transistions before. I havent been back lately but I can now drop in, carve, pump, kickturn the coping, backside grinds on the miniramp. I used to strictly street skate so those tricks are brought into the park now too. I havent been back in awhile though. Been skating ditches. I wanna learn airs but I'm still a weenie.

I use the Yellow Jax(62mm) in the park and will probably use the Killer Bees as well for my shorter boards. They're the perfect size for bowls at least but I can see where standard shortboard wheels(53-54mm) will have the advantage for technical tricks.

Bummer I was going to get the Powell reissue but my friend Gumby bought it instead. I ordered a Bulldog 36 inch board will add some Indy 215s and some Yellow Shogos. Can't wait till it gets here. Your Amigo Eddy Texas Outlaws.

In that case, take a look into Black Labels. The wheelbases are slightly longer than those of other popsicles, so it makes for a less-twitchy ride when you're chargin' the park.

Well, Ive only been park skating for about a month, and yesterday at Lansdowne I learned how to carve around bowls, drop in, and ride around snakeruns. I havent tried getting any air yet, but I can do 360 slides up banks and stuff. My park board is a gravity jp38 with trackers and No skoolz 60mm 96a with rush abec 9 bearings. Are the rainskates significantly faster than no skoolz? Mine didnt seem that fast yesterday but maybe thats just me..

I still can't bring myself to drop in... It's pathetic. But I was able to nail some decent 50-50s after a couple hours of lame attempts.

My stick: (I really wanted the Powell Speck Nineteen has but the shop was out...)

    ^^

When you drop in, you cant set your tail on the coping and think about it. You just gotta go and not stop and fully commit. If anything, think about it before you set your board down and drop in. Thats how I had to learn. At first I would set it on the coping and puss out. Now,, I still get a little nervous but I just say **** it. Just remember to have enough weight on the front foot and bend your knees.
