Re: Post your Pool/Park setups!
Thats a great looking board. Its a little larger than what I have gravitated to in the past couple of years, but classic looking lines. I will have to keep an eye for one of those. I went to the site, and it was all popsickle sticks now.
Some place was offering a reissue of the Sims Folmer. When I skated for Sims in 80/81, thats what I rode. I loved them, it was like a longer version of the Powell Snubnose.
Also, they get overlooked a lot of the time (why? I dont know), but the Dogtown single kicks are really great; old profiles, good selection of sizes from 8 up to 12, single kicks with minimal concave, and usually can be found at great prices.
I forgot to add, that I have gone back to flat or barely concaved decks. I like the feel better. Its a more consistent grip and feel for me. But I realize, I am not the norm.
My comments represent a selfishly one sided 1970's skateboarder mindset, and do not reflect the current fashion-skate-lifestyle industry's views.

Re: Post your Pool/Park setups!
Got a new deck today, Flip Lance Mountain
9"x33"x16"WB I was going to get a Rebel
9.5"x15.5" but the shop was out.
I rode it a little today and like it. I was worried
that the wheel base would be too long and my
169 Indy's too wide for a 9" deck. It has wheel wells
so I used less riser, 5/16" with 62mm Bones SPF.

Re: Post your Pool/Park setups!
For the time being:
Original McGill 31" x 9 1/2" (not the coke bottle, shaved down a bit to clean it up)
Original Tracker SxTracks w/ NOS metal baseplates, new bushings
Gullwing Fat Little Romans 59mm / 95a
I ran Rat Bones 90a (originals) till they started to cone a bit. After I replaced them, I realized the bearings had been slipping inside the seat all the while. I hadn't ridden the damn thing in 10yrs, so I never noticed the speed loss ! My brain is still wired up old school, and I crave that early 80's shape a feel (with minimal concave) so until I find a board to match the McGill I'll probably just stay off it. (it's starting to warp) I'm with Rawls on that one, gimme old school original or restos !
I'd love me a re-issue Caster Inouye's Pool Service board, but they're hard to come by now, and damn expensive. Thats one board I wish I'd hung on to.........

Rainskates does custom flat nose/mild concave decks, and I believe that they've done some Caster repros in the past:

Re: Post your Pool/Park setups!
Hey Worldwide
I just checked out the DVD Northwest ( worth buying for all you tranny heads... its shot on super 8 featuring all the Gnar ass riders park builders from Dreamland/Burnside etc... ) This is the new frontier of tranny skating... these boys are taking it to another level.....
There is a guy on there who makes his own decks, I think called Big Red... just solid popsicles from a true skater in the underground mould... I'll see if I can find something on the net...
Otherwise check out Black Label, Conspiracy, Liberty....
Mike Hirsch at Socal has some on sale right now...

Check it

Re: Post your Pool/Park setups!
evenin, im thinking of getting a globe slide from lush as a street/park/bowl deck, would this be anygood? reason being i want to shortboard but i want something with enough room for me to make mistakes also as the name suggests it makes a good slide deck.

Now that is a sic ride Nepp's and great style with the rider as well. I highly recomend this setup to anyone over the PoolKing decks.
tugboat

The PK Pirate is much heavier and the tail is less functional then the BDS Plank (think tugboat). That BDS is a serious deck from a serious crew with the roots to match. Must support the OG's.
