The main difference between Brad's board and mine is width- mine is an inch wider (10"). Other than that, same length and wheelbase. If I couldn't make my own decks, I'd most likely be riding a BE40...

I take my BE40 when I'm in the mood for some more relaxed sliding. I also like it for surfy carves, cross-stepping, and whatever random no-comply / finger-flip / Brad Edwards-wanna-be grabs I can think of (they usually suck but are fun nonetheless ).
I use it with Carver C7 trucks for parks and pumping the flats...my wife customized mine so now we call it the Jimmy Buffett 40
i've read alot of your posts over at the gravity forums, but it still doesnt make alot of sense to me to use c7's for park... why choose this over a traditional indy or tracker?

does that tail saver really work? my board is getting some serious razor tail... im trying to find a way bring back some pop into it... if not ill just have to get another one, and use my current one for just sliding or something.

it WILL save your tail from razortail, thats for sure.... but actually, you might feel like it loses a lil bit of pop once you put it on there.

I used to run Indy 169s on it, then later used the carver cxs, then I got a couple sets of Carver C7s...they just turn on a dime, and slash like a surfboard(kinda)...
I am not a hardcore guy...I don't even run hard wheels in the park anymore...I just glide and carve for the joy of it...

BE40 out here in Culver City, CA ...this board rules but I'm looking for some good wheels...
I'm just a sidewalk surfer...haven't found any banks or ditches yet that I'd love to carve (and been too busy to trek) but I'm always up for it if anyone knows any locales on the westside (just email me).
Anyone have wheel recomm's for my style? I just bought some Sector 9 Biothanes (63mm/78a)...they're alright but I think I need to go bigger and maybe softer...don't like the chatter on the road, and could definitely use some more speed.
i have a RM39 but its pretty similar to BE so i think i can bring my 2 cents to this thread)
i used to slide and ride my RM39 in miniramps but now i switched the wheels on it and gonna do carving, soft wheel sliding and maybe even try some bombing hills) btw i also like olleing and kickflipping mine) i find it a bit too short for dancing though

Re: Where the BE40 riders at?
just like keril, I opted for the rpm39 after switching from a carve 46, however, it was discontinued and I was forced to decide between the BE40 and the JP38 -- I went with the JP38. All of the flip tricks that I learned on the RPM39 flow much smoother on the JP38, but I bet I could land most of them on the BE40, just without as much pop. I've landed a few 360 flips, fakie and regular -- I'd say fakie is easier.. Normally I just stick to the varial kickflips and the varial heelflips. Also love to slide with it, great board for sliding. I'm not really much of a mini ramp skater though so I don't really take it to bowls. Love the casual cruising and carving when I switch the park wheels/trucks.. Could dance on it, but I kinda frown upon dancing so I stay away from that.. BE40, from what I've heard, just as the JP38 are great all around boards, can be used for basically anything, with the exception of extreme downhill. Heres a quick video of me rolling away from what I've been working on since the beginning of the summer on JP38 -- slightly different, but pretty similar.. Fakie varial heelflip up the incline is a little sketchy, but I took it anyway. All in all, JP38 and BE40 are great all around boards. and the JP for $40? can't beat that.
