Re: Deckcrafters Blood Diamond.
the blood diamond is my main rider.
i love it.
concave is just over 0.5" deep, probably 3/8" of rocker from the outside bolt holes, and the tail is big and concaved. nose is functional - you can ride this baby backwards. every little detail has been thought out for this deck. Ace 66s fit good on it. Get it!

That is nice....

Thanks, beast_coast.
- i couldn't find any profile shots of the board so it's hard to judge concave/nose/tail.
that's just what i was looking for.
suffice it to say, streetheap and i are more than appreciative.
cheers.

Re: Deckcrafters Blood Diamond.
just wanted to add to this...I ordered a Blood Diamond back at the beginning of September Chuck sent it out fast, of course it arrived 20 minutes after I returned from the ER with a broken ankle. So doped up on morphine I assembled it and placed it on my quiver rack to stare at while I recovered...while the pain of 6 screws and a plate was bad staring at a new board that I hadn't even scratched was much worse. Yet is sat for the 6 weeks I was in a cast and then another 5 weeks while I went through physical therapy and waited for my doctor to give me the all clear...of course we got over a foot of snow on the day he did so....more waiting...fast forward one more week and finally I can skate. I had great plans for where I was going to try it out but choose my local park as it would be someplace I could skate most comfortably after 3 months off. WOW what a board....stiff, light, responsive with a deep cradling concave and nice pockets front and rear. I was a little spooked my first drop in, unknown board, unknown ankle, at least I know the park. I can honestly say that from my first drop in I have never been more comfortable on a board; this was even true with my ankle. The concave locked me in with nary a foot slip over 6 hours of skating, my legs are dead but only from all the time spent skating after so much time off a board. The Blood Diamond is surely going to be my board of choice for some time to come since it put so much pleasure back in my skating.

I saw the board in your rack in some other thread and was going to ask you about it. Did you go with the Aces?
Glad you're up and skating again as well.
Ace 55's and SkateTechnology 56mm Black Hole Formula wheels...the trucks are great though as an Indy for life guy I will be switch back to Indy 169's by summer. The wheels are fast but a bit too narrow, Chatting with shitbird on SnB he has a high 50mms wider hard wheel on the way so when I wear out the BHF's I think that's the way I'm going. Skating again is awesome as much mentally as physically

Re: Deckcrafters Blood Diamond.
Got one of those, I believe the best board ever.
I ride bigger than average boards so I called Chuck to see if he could make me a bigger than standard blood diamond, and yes, he made it slightly bigger: 10.5" wide, slightly longer (can't remember exactly) and slightly longer wheelbase at 17.5".
AWESOME! very rigid, lightest deck ever for its size, extremely comfortable - deep concave and tail (also with concave)
Definitely highly recommended.

Re: Deckcrafters Blood Diamond.
I couldn't get comfortable on the BHF's and threw on a set of IPS Speedlabs I had...perfect wheels for me on this board right now. I was skating a bowl today with a guy and his son, the guy was flailing a bit on a New School deck so I let him try my board, He ended up liking it so much that he wrote down the name to buy one when he got home

Re: Deckcrafters Blood Diamond.
Would this deck be okay for more street-style stuff?

Re: Deckcrafters Blood Diamond.
First post on the board: Hello.
Just ordered a Blood Diamond from SCS based on this thread's recommendations.
Ace 66s, Indy Abec 7s, Rainskates Orange Tsunamis (65mm, 85a).
I'm totally stoked. Just wanted to say thanks. I'll slap some pics up and stuff once it gets here, I noticed while looking that there aren't many profile shots of the BD deck.
Also, I'm a novice longboarder (small hills, carving, etc), and this will be my first pool set up.

Re: Deckcrafters Blood Diamond.
Bummer news. SCS has emailed to tell me that they're out of the Blood Diamond, so is Chuck. He'll have more in 3 weeks.
So question: Where can I go to get the setup mentioned a moment ago? I'm hoping to shred this weekend.

Re: Deckcrafters Blood Diamond.
I found these two...another similar board to try would be the Plaster Nude Pool Cue. Also with wide wheels the Ace 66's might be too wide for the Blood Diamond

Re: Deckcrafters Blood Diamond.
Thanks guys, I got a refund from SCS and ordered with Denver Skate Shop.
They're the only ones that had the deck, and the rainskates. I took your advice, gecko, and went with Indy 169s. Should be good?
