Exclamation home ramp covers?

anyone have a ramp at home they keep covered? I just installed one and with todays rain I'm getting antsy for getting a cover for it. I was wondering if anyone has tried Tyvek?

Coat is with spar urethane and forget the cover.

I did, there are already lots of cuts and nicks in it where water will get in. Also, I did not coat anything underneath the top layer.

a cover will just end up holding more water in and not allow the wood to dry out. Then the wood rots faster.

thanks for the post Frank. I believe Tyvek is highly water resistant, and lets water vapor out. That is the claim anyway.

I second Frank's claim. At least in the South, tarps do more harm than good. We tried the tarp thing for awhile. Wind would blow the tarp off or rain would still seep in. If the rain seeped in then the tarp prevented it from evaporating due to blocking the suns rays. Also if there was water on the tarp it would get on the ramp as we took the tarp off. A good water sealer is your best bet.
