I've been skating a ditch over here for a bit and I've really grown to love it. Thing is, I thought my glass grenade was the ideal size (length, width) for riding ditches (it totally isn't).
I took a friend to the ditch the other day and I fell in love with the way his S9 rides. It's stiff, just right the length (lol), and the kicktail is great.
He's riding an S9 Bingin (Bamboo series), Randal 180's and some Flashbacks.
36.75 L" x 8.75 W"
This board is SO SO nice on the ditches (half-pipe-ish). You can ride the banks like they're waves and everytime I drop in it's damn fast.
My question is, are there any boards similar to this board out there? I don't care if they're by other longboard companies (just not Loaded, I'm looking for stiff), or custom, home-mades (arcane, krayola, roggs, etc(I'd actually prefer supporting someone making home-made decks). I'd also prefer maybe a little shorter in length as 36.75" is a little too big for my tastes (....).
Let me know! I'm excited to get a new deck for the ditch and I'm sick of stealing my friends away from him when we go riding.
Yeah there is a lot of boards out there, both from big companies and small guys that are pretty much like that.
Go to socalskateshop.com they pretty much have about ever deck, there is some 34" as well. As few inches does matter, 34.5" or a 36.25" matters to me, just works and what I'm used to.
If not I can make you a deck, all I need is a tracing and you just tell me how much tail, nose and wheelbase. Just trying to help, for my time I don't make much for hand shaping a board it's just to help out someone find something they cannot anywhere else.
