The O.G. Down Souther Longboarder, Jeff Tatum is always coming up with new "old" photos. Predictably, many of them feature JT grabbing some air on a longboard -- whether the photo is 30 years old, or from yesterday. These just came into the 'Fish, with a note from JT;
Where the Heck is This and What's he Skating?
Genuine, 1970's Longboarding.
JT writes, "Braaaaaaaaaah! Another rare JT pic of the month! Everytime I post stuff in my gallery on the 'Fish, I'm just blown away by how many skaters can nail down when the photo was taken and what the skateboard is. These guys are way better than my memory! I can tell you all about the pools and how they skated, but who knows when it all was! So, here’s one for the historians: can you tell me where this was, what kinda wheels, pads, trucks???"

Re: More JT Mystery Pics from the Past.
"Where" is the Kona Bowl replica at Del Mar (better pool than the keyhole was, in my opinion). As for the rest, looks like Panther wheels and Trackers. Pads are hard to see, based on the gloves I'll go with Rector...

I could not find an existing thread where the pic was being identified, so I guess I will start one.
Place: Delmar SkateRanch Kidney (Kona Bowl)
Time: Summer(ish) '78, possibly pre-opening of the park
Board: Panther Airliner and midtracks. Wheels are most likely Panthers, but not sure. coloring indicates might be Sims Comps. It also looks like the fronts are smaller or well worn.
Safety Equipment: Elbow pads are Norcon, based on the strap configuration. Gloves are Eagle Claws. Kneepads appear to be Norcon also, based on the cap position and cap look on the knee.
Other skaters: My monitor is not super clear, so I cant begin to id the skaters. If I would even know!
