Went to the local park (coronado) with a friend who skates bowls. I just went to shoot shots but he convinced me to try it. I tried both my setups and finally tried his, then I got it, I could roll in and hit a few walls, pump the street course.
Then I moved to the bowl with the waterfall, after psyching myself out I rolled in and freaked out and hit the wall.
Tried it again and managed to pump around the bowl, hella fun time. Now my friend is gone and so is the sweet setup I liked. Now I am sad, but I caught the bug, I am gunna build out my own setup.
To add, I just want to say that I have seen allot of bowl riding and shot a great deal of it and only now that I have tried it do I truly understand and respect it. For those of you that rip bowls, hell yea.

that set up was a 33" flip lance mountain. WB was 15-1/2" or 16" 81/2" wide with bullet 95a wheels. indy 149 trucks. (get 169s they would be more stable)
bones red bearings. bones hard or Khiro black 98a bushings so you can make the trucks really lose but not sloppy.
that set up really is for me to ride a wooden bowl in brooklyn.
I would have rather had 98a at the bowls we hit. i felt the 95s were too soft when I was dropping in.
go check out funhouse, skaterbuilt, or old man army skateboards just get something with lots of concave, and a mellow tail.

Glad you checked out the bowls. I got hooked last year, can't stop thinking of bowls. Too bad you had to hang with Sexy. I like the longer boards - ( BE 40", Earthwing 38", Just got a G&S Kustom Cruiser 40" but didn't set it up yet. ) Make a trip to NY and we'll take you to a couple of parks.

oldy why don't you drop in first before commenting? all those decks have flex, and are too long for tight trannyz. which is why you can never stay in the deep end.
