Default Drop in

I finally did it! hey don't laugh..lol was a major milestone for me.
I've been rock climbing for 20 years falling 15-20 feet sometimes, tied to a rope of course, but I was mentally blocked by the drop after I started skating ( again) last spring.
I was swinging transitions when this kid ( 13 maybe?) goes on like " you should drop in"
I Know I should, I answered, I'm kind of blocked thou.
" I'll show you how...we'll do it together"

Awesome...fell 2 times got it at the 3rd...on a tiny 3 feet one, moved immediately to a higher one, and didn't stop until my legs were gone...
Finally able to access a pool properly...really stoked to learn more now.

As in other activities having someone spend 5 minutes helping out helped a LOT!

I'll be sure to do the same if I have a chance.

This post made my day dude, I just did the same last night after about 8 years away from skating.

I picked up a Powell Re-Issue and dropped in on the mini last night. I'm going back tonight for the larger pool.

...now I've just got to build up the guts to head out there during the daylight so I don't get run off by the local cops.

Lol I sure did...Well was about time! Now I can finally start to enjoy that toy I have in S Jose...properly.
Only weird thing is that riding the bottom of the pools i developed what is probably a bad position, with my back foot not completely on the tail.
After dropping I need a moment to get used to the new (correct) position, so I tend to ride bigger pools..just the fact that i can finally enjoy the large pool wit 2 cradles in Sj is fantastic...
Besides I have the excuse to shop for another "less old school" board, So I'll leave my Powel peralta ripper with the 64mm/ 98a wheels and get a more "modern" shape.

There you go,
I could not resist the temptation to reward my succeess with a new deck, here we go:

Anti-hero 8.5 X 32 but in black...49 $, pretty light, very nice concave..should be replacing my old ( used ) skaterbuilt.

Always undecided bethween ordering the "dream board" (a pocket Pistol in my case) or give up to the instant gratification at Mainland at the Mall.

Lol..you mean the guts of being 43, fully padded in a park where everyone is under 15? Yeah ...lol I know what you mean...
Picked a board after what...20 years break? besides back in Rome in the 70' we where just looking for the steepest hill we could find..or garage ramps (no multistores there) and just ride and ride...

At least the the San Jose skate park pads are mandatory and thre's quite a few skategeezers on the concrete. Some very good too...
Not that I cared to be the only one looking like Darth Vader in the smaller parks...but I just love that place...

lol..
then you should have seen me the first times at a skate park with my longboard...lol..old, padded to the teeth and WITH A LONGBOARD? Lol..what?? Pumping around the flats?
I could not care less..I was ( and still) having too much fun.
I didn't even know the basic rules..soo I would hold on to the bottom of a pool/bowl until I would heard " dude"?

from a guy waiting to drop in from the lip..lol..or being literally surrounded by BMXs for the same reason..lol
