Re: official photography thread
try different angles, different lighting, different distances away. For landscape photography early morning and evening light are generally the best. For portraits, soft light, and overcast day is perfect for portraits. Check into the rule of thirds, Get books at the library, find helpful websites on the interwebz. As for the editing program, I have photoshop elements. I got it for free from my grandpa so I don't know how much it is but I imagine it's pretty cheap (it's a really good program). But for now just stick with any free thing you can get, to see how you like photography.
Follow the rules, and break them. Try going for different stuff that you think nobody has done before with photography.

LOL Wells, at the Old Spice. I really enjoy that portrait, too.
Mitch: for film, there are a multitude of great, affordable SLR's out there. If you want one that will work with a DSLR, then you probably want to look into Nikon, or the Canon EOS line.
If you're just looking for something cheap, look for an older Canon, Pentax, or Minolta. Olympus also makes some very nice stuff.
Just my recommendations, there are tons and tons of options.

haha, the ME super is a great camera too. I'm just super nostalgic for the OM2n because I took most of my best pictures on it, at a very good time in my life. So regret selling it and the prices are going up again so unless I sell something else I wont be able to afford one anytime soon either.
