I just stumbled onto this thread when I was viewing whoisonline and saw someone looking at it. I'll eventually look at all of the pages but just the last few, some very nice pics and inspiring to go lurk in the yard and see what I can see. I spend most time shooting the flora and fauna around the yard.

Here's a couple from this year.

    I've been very bored recently.
Bored with work, bored of being single, bored of being broke, bored of taking pictures all the time. bored.

So I went round to my mate's house and we started with a civil game of scrabble, which went down hill before we'd even properly stated.

I won despite my awesome collection of letters.

I think my friends are getting bored of me taking photos too

So really scrabble wasn't cutting it at cheering me up, So we went out to a nice rough pub with an 'interesting' mix of people, sat down outside and tried to enjoy the 'ambiance'...

...there wasn't really any 'ambiance', just this crazy woman waving a cigarette in some guy's face and screaming. This picture looks good natured, like she knows him and they're having a joke, but apparently he just told her that he's going to kill her and she's laughing and telling him to #### off because she's going to burn his eyes out with her cigarette.

I thought it was kind of funny because I never actually heard what he said, but when he got up to leave I was like 'wtf is in the bottle?' and it had a big 'flammable' sticker on the other side...

So after my quick little success of taking some sneaky pictures out in the beer garden I got a little bolder and took some inside too. As per our conversation on 'candid photos' earlier in the thread, I just put the camera to my eye and pushed the shutter button. I don't know these people, and only the girl at the bar looked at me, and all I did was smile and she smiled back. Sorted.

We went back to my mate's flat and we smoked a little and I thought I took loads of photos of his house mate, but I was well past my limit and there wasn't any film in the camera.

I had work really early the next day. There was no one about, I felt like the sky.

    No more cheerful sadly.

Sorry if there are too many photos in this post. I figured the smaller size would be ok.
Larger Res on my flickr and I will update my blog oneday. I wont be posting any more pictures here for a while I promise.

Ha. Apparently I have scanned over 3300 photos in the last 13 months of having my Neg Scanner. That's an average of around 8 films a month, not bad going.

New to the thread but I'm not complaining one iota!

Tell me about your neg scanner.
I shot an slr for years. Towards the end, I'd just get a cd then manipulate/print as needed. I've got a lot of negs I'd like to get digitized but have been leery of the scanners.

Lexx, if you don't mind my asking, what scanner are you using? I have a flatbed, but it seems like it's quitting on me. I keep getting a line in my scans, and recently, random color artifacts. So it might be time to look for a new one.

On the 4th of July, my friends and I didn't know what to do. So we randomly took a 14 hour straight road trip, and visited Lake Erie. Kinda crazy. We left at 6PM, touched the lake at 1:30 AM, and arrived home at 9AM... haha.

whoah! Is that the one and only? tee is the same color as the ones I got with my last 2 boards. Count me in on the portrait praise.

I don't have a frog but I've got a hella toad that does front door security for me. This is his 3rd year and he's bulking up. Guess tipping has been good.

There was a fire incident across the street, so being the kind loving person, I took advantage of the scene

Went hiking up to a waterfall yesterday. I climed ontop of the bottom part and stood under the fall haha. It was so cold though I could barely breath. Good times, good times

...So maybe I'm going to get a digital slr soon so I was wondering if I should get a Canon Eos Rebel, or a Nikon D40?

Or maybe you guys have a totally different suggestion. Those just seemed like good starter slrs.

I want to be able to go hiking, etc. with it so it shouldn't be too heavy or really fragile.

thanks, and sorry for the double post
