Re: official photography thread
KROHN27, the third one down is awesome - at first I thought it was three different pictures. Only the website 'watermark' is too small to read, kind of defeats the point a little.
FL_RIDER_93, to answer your question - I wouldn't 'trade up' from an f2 or f1.8 for an f1.4 again. It's really not much of an advantage stop wise, and I've found generally there tends to be a drop in quality to achieve the faster aperture. Lenses do all sorts of funny things when stopped open at their widest aperture. I sold the 50 1.8 for the 1.4 because I do A LOT of low light photography, but what I found was that even if I stopped down to 1.8 the 50mm 1.8 was still sharper and suffered less from stuff like Lens Coma (where highlights seem to glow). I also found the 1.4 too stiff and tricky to focus - the viewfinder wasn't really any brighter and if anything it was harder to focus with because (and this is true of both zuiko 50mm 1.4 lenses I've owned) the focus ring was so stiff.
If you are going to buy a new lens, get something that'll offer you a different perspective - portrait telephoto, wide angle or ultra wide. I love the 24mm wide for all sorts of stuff, 35mm wide for portraits where I want a bit of the background, 50mm for 'general use' (actually I use the 35mm most) and an 85mm for headshots and portraits where you can't or don't want to get too close because of comfort. I don't shoot sports or wildlife so I've got no use for anything longer.
More cross processing -

and carvinconcrete, do you think the fact that one of them might have been gay was the reason the truck was on fire? I hear that gays don't know anything about cars, too busy sleezing on mechanic's ass to learn anything. I think that was probably it!

Re: official photography thread
Got a film camera for photography class and these are a few from the first roll of film i shot.
I havent shot film in forever, and now i remember what i loved about it so much. Im taking photography for my fine art credit now that im finally making my way into college, only 10 years after graduating high school. I shoot digital semi-professionally and going back to film almost seems like an upgrade!
Anyway, these are a few of my favs.

Dang, you just reminded me I'd said I'd check to see if I had that other X700 setup. I'll dig around the bedroom when I go up to change.

A little motion blur. This was the best shot out of the 3 best photos out of the 68 pictures I took when he was swinging.

I know it's not safe to put a film camera flash on a digital camera because the voltages are different or something. But is ok if you are using ti as an off camera flash? In other words could i potentially buy an old flash and use it with my DSLR?

most of the time it has to do with the triggers. cheap triggers can sometimes fry due to the high voltage of some flashes. I actually used a 30 year old flash on a wireless trigger for a shoot yesterday and it did just fine. You may want to check the manual of whatever triggers you decide to go with.
