You may not be aware of it, but that`s a insulting question. It`s not the camera, it`s the photographer.
It`s a Canont XT btw, (EXIF)

My first (horrible) attempt at photography.

I also have a quick question for you Rebel XT users. When I have the camera dial on the "P" setting, I can't seem to transfer the images over. Is there a way to fix that?

Jess, that probably means your camera is set to give RAW files when you are in the "creative zone" (The Av,Tv,P,M) When you are in dummy, eh I mean the green mode and the other picture styles it delivers jpgs. Set it on P and check the settings for Image quality.

A good cam just gives you so much more possibilities with the settings, lensen and filters
Any DSLR is capable of those pictures, but if you compare to cheap compacts of course.... Good gear has never been cheaper than now, wich is great.
I do most of my digital work with a Canon 450D(XTi I think it`s called in the US) and a 35mm f/2 , 85mm f/1.8 and I borrow a 16-35mm f/2.8 when I need it.

This thread makes me wish I had a camera, don't leave your backpack at the top of the hill because it will get stolen. Oh well I'm getting a D40 for Christmas.

Wow. That looks like some sweet film. Do they have black and white slide film? I tend to shoot black and white.

Re: official photography thread
I'm trying to get more 'out there' with my photography. Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas of how I could some photo jobs. Maybe an internship or something similar. I'm just trying to get more experienced and maybe make a little money with it.
I've worked with my local newspaper a little, but they don't really need any help anymore.
I figured I would ask you guys. Thanks.
I have gear.

Re: official photography thread
I <3 35mm.
The background is a little under exposed, but with filters and burning and stuff i could make it look nice. Scanning sucks.

Kodachrome is dope. But I'm too lazy to drive half an hour to the Ritz to get it sent for development.
