Re: official photography thread
Getitrightsteve: There is one company that I know of that made black and white slide film... It's called Scala, made by Agfa. There is really only one place to get it developed too (actually I may have found a second), though I am told you can do it in regular black and white chemicals.. you'll just get a negative instead of a positive, which kind of defeats the purpose.
Hope that helps!

Agfa Scala isn`t made anymore so it`s not really an option.
But any B&W negative film can be developed as a positive, the guys at dr5 CHROME - Black and White slide / transparency process + THE ONLY QUALITY SCALA PROCESSING WORLDWIDE is experts at it.

Re: official photography thread
I didn't know they could do any black and white as positives, that's awesome! I know Scala's not made, but I recently came upon about 21 rolls of it, which is why I mentioned it. It can still be found, occasionally.

I also have a quick question for you Rebel XT users. When I have the camera dial on the "P" setting, I can't seem to transfer the images over. Is there a way to fix that?
P as in Priority, A as in Aperture priority, S as in Shutter priority. you need to change the change the setting on the type of files you grabbing

None of you asshats are in the hammers shadow but, I will say the new year will bring some forum changes, one of which will be much stricter enforcement of the general anti-hater TOS rules.

Re: official photography thread
I'm about to make a dive into film, but I don't know where to start. I know y'all can help! Are there SLR Nikons that are compatible with Nikkor AF-S lenses? I've got a D40 and I would love to be able to just swap lenses. I'm just learning, so an old camera that I could find on craigslist or ebay would be just fine.

F6, F5, F100, F80, F75, and F65 are all fully compatible with AF-S and VR lenses.
For AF-S only you can add F90, F4 and F70.
The best buy you can do is the F100, a fully "PRO" camera that can be had for very little money. I love mine.

AND, very important, an "DX" lens will not be useable on any film camera.
