Colorado Downhill Sessions
The buzz around Colorado has been a little low lately, it seems. Anyone else notice? Could be the lack of regular races like we had early summer, but who knows.
In any case, I was thinking we should set up some weekly or monthly, depending on peoples interests and schedules, downhill sessions in various places. I know a fair ammount of spots as I'm sure everyone else does.
So let's get together, let's collaborate, let's share spots and lets build some stoke for Colorado Downhill.

I'm free on pretty much all weekends and such, and I don't have much going on after five on any day of the week. Shoot me a PM or somethin' ... i have all the stoke, but i don't know any hills to use it on :'(

Re: Colorado Downhill Sessions
Well, Saturday probably won't work for me, but Sunday should be fine.
Anyone have plans that day? Or should we plan on Sunday?
Also, I know we're all kind of spaced around in CO, but where abouts would you guys like to go? Rather, how far are you willing to travel?
EDIT: Sick, Mark, thanks for the update!

This Saturday I am going to Leadville, open after that. I am willing to drive and like your Connifer type runs for sure.

I was thinking about heading up to Leadville, too, if my plans fall through. What's the race course like? I don't know anything about it...
So, we got one for Evergreen/Conifer, then. Anyone else?

It is paved (like the road though) bike path like one car width wide. I haven't rode that section but it is turny...though I don't think you'll need to predrift anything or atleast not until the bottom. I am prob. heading up Friday to visit the folks but hope to see some of you up there!

Do you think a good number of people will show up for it?

The guy putting it on said like 30 guys from Durango Boards were going due to the other race getting cancelled. I do find it hard to believe thirty will come from that far but who knows. Aside from that I am not thinking many locals longboard as I have rode the crap out of Leadville all of July and August...I saw one guy hiking while I was on a bomber run.

YEah suchs about the DH getting cancelled, but they still have slalom going, right?
I think I might head up there then, sounds like it might be more fun than what I was thinking about doing. Is the path fun?

I believe the Slalom is still on but I have no idea.
Head up...the path is very fun!! It is a path so the speeds are not as fast as say that Connifer run by any means. Here's a bad pic, please ignore the red line rout (and white). The course rout is the path in the middle sweeping to parallel Hwy 24. The rout comes in in the bottom of the pic as a white line, where the path breaks left the course has no lines on it. Confused yet? This area is where I believe the course will end and the pic prob. only shows a bit over a mile of the 2 to 3 mile course.
Rayne rocks it out...Just sayin'...

Re: Colorado Downhill Sessions
I am going to be skating tonight, and I need someone to come with me; I don't think I really want to hitch tonight. It will be around 5:30-6PM and in the Golden/Evergreen/Genessee area. I don't really know exactly where yet, but I can let you know.
PM if you want to go, and I'll give you my number.
