I'm from SLC, but I'm in NYC now. If you want to stop by a shop for goody's, go to Salty Peaks (3300 south and close to 215) and ask for Mike Brown or this hot girl named Erin. Decade (300 south and 400 east) is good tpo, ask for Ryan. These people know their ####. Salty's has a better selection (Landy, Sec 9, Loaded, Gravity, abec, 3dm), especially for wheels. But, I like Decade (sec 9, Landy, abec). I've heard Milo Sports has ####, but I don't go there for longboards. Also, there's a place down in Provo (just in case you hit the 4 mile 8% grade to Provo) on University Ave near Center street.
hey, thanks guys, i didn't think i'd get any info. and i was wondering if the cottonwood canyons are even possible to ride... maybe when i'm experienced i can try it out..
i think big cottonwood would be a better bet than little. it isnt as steep, ive mountain biked down big cottomwood but thats a different story, i think it would be pretty tough and youd have to pick a time when they arnt many or any cars.

Little cottonwood is a little steep and narrow. You'd have to be one hell of a rider to hit that from the top. Big is doable from a number of starting points. After the S-curve is probably the best for you. If you start above that, you'll have to figure out a way to stop right at the S-curve. Big is a lot wider than little, too. The major problem with these canyons is the traffic. If you want some good canyon riding, hit up the Uintas or some little canyons that shoot off bigger ones (there's a couple up parleys and provo canyon).
