I'm down there kayaking fairly often but haven't taken the longboard yet. Any good hills in town? Cops okay with boarders?

yeah, the best (and most accessible) hills are Clovis and North College. To get to Clovis just turn West on 25th st. off of main and drive straight until you see the street on your left. For N college just ask someone cause everyone knows where it is. I've been riding a fair amount this summer and haven't had trouble with the cops but from past experience all you really get is a stern talkin to. Where have you been kayaking? You should hit up Vallecito. . . it's gnarly from what I hear.

Try the front side off the college down ro the circle k.
If I rememebr out by Hermosa theres a nice hill that turns to dirt forest service road approx 7 miles long. (late70's.)
We rode old 550 when the new highway was being built ( and the new one as it was built)
Good times.

Hey I went to Durango during my vacation!!! Riding by the golf coarse is really a blast especially when ya' go over those two speed bumps anywhere from 25 to 35 mph. That is headed towards the college. Cops are not so nice about ya bombin thier roads or anywhere asphalt exists. I was pulled over by a state trooper on hwy 160 going towards town [550]. I was keepin my speed down between 35 to 40 mph when he pulled in front of me about 60 yds. He chewed me out and said what I was doin was stupid and that it was illegal. I played dumb tourist and showed him my Texas drivers license. 2 days later I was stopped by city cops who said it was illegal. On hwy 160 just behind the hospital there is a new subdivision by an apt complex there is a nice hill. Carved it like butter with back wheel breakin loose a little. Some local kids came out to watch. Asked them if they wanted to try. They looked at me like I was crazy. They asked me where I was from. I told em' I came all the way from Dallas Texas just to ride them there hills............
